FRED BOWDEN Mrs. Lorne Hicks and her sister, Miss Wilda Pollock of Kitchener were in Toronto last week attending the Canadian National Exhibition, Rev. & Mrs, R. V. Wilson returned home last week after vacationing for the month of August at their cottage at Port Carling. Mr. & Mrs. Ray Lammie spent the weekend at their cottage in the Pinery. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Greb were Sunday visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Reg Hodgson at their cottage at Port Blake. Misses Elaine and Marie Powe and Margaret Haist have returned home following a trip to the West Coast. Elaine has resumed her teaching duties at HARRY GLOVER Harry Glover, 86, passed away suddenly in Strathroy Hospital Saturday. Surviving are his wife, the former Lottie Cann; four sons, James, Exeter; Robert, Strathroy; Harry and Ray, both .of London; and three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Helen) Wright, London; Mrs. Ervin (Grace) Anglestad, London; and Mrs. Jerry (Betty) Herbert, St. Thomas; and several grandchildren. Funeral service was in Strathroy Tuesday. Interment was in Strathroy Cemetery. GEORGE BAYNHAM George Baynham, 77, Centralia, passed away Saturday in Victoria Hospital, London. His wife, the former Hattie Lochner, predeceased him. Survivors include three sons, Charles (Scott) of Calgary, Alberta; Fred of Galveston, Texas; and Gordon of Exeter; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. William Haddock, Centralia, and Mrs. Elmer Pickering, Shipka. The body rested at the Hopper-Hockey Funeral Home where the service was held Tuesday with Rev. Robert Wilson, Centralia, in charge. Interment was in Grand Bend Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Bowden, Jim Cook, Jack Price, Bill Elliott, Wilfred Huxtable and Ken Hodgins. the Laura Second Secondary School in St. Catharines. Mr. & Mrs. Lew Hicks and family .of Toronto were Sunday visitors with Mrs. Lorne Hicks. Attending the funeral of the late George Baynham, Tuesday were Charles Baynham, Calgary; Fred Baynham, Galveston, Texas; Mr, & Mrs. Gordon Culbert, Niagara Falls; Mr. & Mrs. D. M. Members of Grand Bend Public Utilities Commission feel that the Reeve and Members of Village Council are :not presenting true facts to the ratepayers of Grand Bend in connection with water billing. Grand Bend Public Utilities Commission received a request from the Village council dated July 29, 1969, to prepare a cost rate for reading commercial meters, billing and collecting all water consumption charges for the new Grand Bend Water System. Public Utilities Commission had been advised by Reeve 0.J. Wassmann that council would receive a delegation from P.U.C, at their meeting to be held on August 9. 1969, to discuss details of water billing. Chairman L. Mason, Commissioner Robert Keys and members of staff attended this meeting, only to find that sufficient number of council members were not present to hold a council meeting. The Reeve invited P.U.C. representatives to sit at council table and discuss items presented by the P.U.C. with himself, Councillor Ivan Luther and Clerk M. DesJardine. In order to prepare a cost rate for billing water consumption, Times-Advocate, $ the following information is required by P.U.C. To date Public Utilities Commission have not received this information from the Reeve, or members of Village Council.
