Glenn Cunningham visited

week at Goderich.
Sunday will mark the last
meeting of Sunday School at St.
James Anglican Church until
fall. During July the Anglican
congregation will worship in the
United Church and for the
month of August, the United
Church members will worship at •
St. James.

June 18 20 members of the
Women's Institute went to
Huronview to entertain the
residents with a program and to
honor those residents who
celebrated a birthday in June.
During the program Mrs.
Emmery Fahrner played while
Mrs. Harvey Hodgins conducted
a singsong. Mrs. Gerald Dearing
and Mrs. Bruce Shapton gave
readings.
Janet and Bevan Shapton and
Kathie Davey sang to the piano
accompaniment of Mrs,
Shapton, and Mrs. John Bishop
sang several numbers.
Mrs. Hodgins played ragtime
selections on the piano, and
Nelson Squires on his harmonica
and Cecil Skinner on the violin
rendered old-time favorites with
Mrs. Squires accompanying.
Gifts were presented to
twenty-two residents. Lunch was
served to all those present at the
program.
June 19 the Women's
Institute, with members from
the Hurondale group, enjoyed a
bus trip to Hamilton and St.
George.
At St. George they toured the
home of Adelaide Hoodless,
founder of the Institute. In
Hamilton they saw Dundurn
Castle, the City Hall, and the
Royal Botanical Gardens.
The party then proceeded to
the Westover Institute Hall
where they were served a turkey
dinner.
CUBS MEET
Tuesday evening, June 17,
the Cubs staged their final
meeting of the season.
There was a ballgame with
the Cubs playing against the
mothers. (The mothers won!)
A singsong and a skit around
a campfire on the community
field, then lunch in the Cub hall
rounded out the evening.
FINAL MEETING
Thursday afternoon marked
the final meeting for the summer
of the Explorers and the Boys
and Girls Fellowship at Zion
United Church.
More than 50 boys and girls
played games on the church
lawn, then enjoyed a cold turkey

held last Tuesday at Strathroy
Golf and Country Club with 40
present.

Halliday who are retiring and
Mrs. Carol Hamilton and Miss

The Psalm was read by Susan

Jeffrey Timothy Alce, son of

Anne Davis was baptized by
Rev. R.A. Carson.
Awards for attendance were
presented to all Sunday School
children who had qualified.
Sunday afternoon at the
Lions Park the Annual Church
Picnic was held with an
attendance of 60.

The annual Pot Luck Supper
of St. Patrick's C.W.L. held in
the gymtorium of St. Patrick's

The Elimville UCW members
and families enjoyed a delicious
pot luck and strawberry supper
Friday evening at Elimville
Church. The children enjoyed
sports following the supper on
the church grounds with the
Sports Committee Mrs. Danny
Coward, Miss Elaine Johns and
Miss Ava Elford.
The humorous program was
in the form of a television show
entitled "Philip Johns Variety
Hour" followed by an "Act
Fast" show.
Those taking part in Act Fast
were emcee Wm Routly and
contestants Miss Brenda Skinner,
Mrs. Howard Pym, Harold Bell
and Allen Johns, all proving to
be professional actors.
Those taking part in the
variety show were the Allen
Sisters, Johns Sisters, the Pym
family supplying musical
numbers; Miss Susan Parsons
played the guitar; a musical
singing trio of Miss Carolyn
Glanville, Judy Parsons andJoan
Pym accompanied by Judy and
Carolyn on the guitars and Joan
with the tambourine; Miss Helen
Batten gave a humorous
imitation of Miss Phyliss Diller;
and a comical skit presented by
Miss Elaine Johns, Mrs. John
