The Exeter lawn bowling club
will be holding their first
tournament Saturday afternoon
of this week. The competition is
open to entries from mens
double combinations from
anywhere in the district.
With the help of pleasant
weather, the largest number of
bowlers this season participated
in jitney play Tuesday night
with several newcomers trying
the popular summer sport for
the first time.
The major prizes in Tuesday
play went to the Pym family.
Alvin scored two wins and a plus
of 20 to take the top award
while his wife Lillian finished
close behind with the same
number of victories and a plus of
16,
In third place was Ted
Chambers op the strength of a
double victory and a plus of 11.
Fourth spot went to Bill
Etherington.
Saturday's regular play saw a
tie for first place between
Howard Truemner and
Wellington Brock. Each scored
two wins, a plus of 10 and
aggregate of 24.
Third spot went to Lizzie
Lamport with two wins and a
plus of seven and Lillian Pym
placed fourth.
