A financial report given at the annual meeting showed a profit of $790.06 resulted from last year's festival. While the profit picture over the past few years does not make the event look like much of a money maker, it was pointed out at the meeting that an inventory of $3,023 has been built up over the years. The inventory includes various supplies as well as all the equipment used to cook and bake the beans. Organizers of the event met last week and decided to hold the popular bean feast on Saturday, August 23. General chairman of the overall project will again be Ray McKinnon with Stewart Dietz serving as his assistant. Miss Carol Erb is secretary of the group while Mrs. Howard Finkbeiner will handle the treasury duties. The most important duty, that of providing the food will be taken care of by Gerald Gingerich and Mrs. Claire Geiger. They are expected to add at least a dozen more names to help on this all-important committee, Other committee chairmen are as follows: concessions and midway, Glenn Weido; tours, Orland Reichert; traffic and parking, Carl Thiel; property, Oscar Greb; horseshoes, Jim Bedard; entertainment, Mrs. Carol Dietz; ponies, Fred Haberer; tickets, Wayne Clasius and Mrs. Finkbeiner; publicity, Herb Turkheim. The festival committee members are already planning an outstanding prograr,n of entertainment for the entire day which will include a merry-go-round and fortis wheel to supply the children with plenty of activity. Relatives attended from Toronto, Hamilton, Stratford, Mitchell, Bornholm and Dublin. The evening was spent playing progressive euchre followed by lunch. The event was planned by their family, Wanda and Jan Fisher, Linda, Randy and Warren Moore. UCW Hibbert United Church Women met in the family life centre, Wednesday afternoon. The meeting opened with quiet music with Mrs. Robert McCaughey at the piano. Mrs. Walter O'Brien and Mrs. John Hocking bad charge of the devotions. The theme was "Peace I leave with you." Meditation and a responsive prayer in unison followed. President Miss Vera Hambley presided for the business. Roll Call was answered by a Easter verse, Mrs. Donald Johns favoured everyone with a piano instrumental. Bible study was given by Mrs. A. H. Daynard. A very successful Silent Bake Sale followed. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Murray Christie, Mrs. Ed. Dearing and Mrs. Sam Norris.
