Campbell, Toronto, passed away in South Huron Hospital Saturday, April 12 in his 100th year. Dr. Campbell would have reached his 100th birthday July 1st this year. The late Dr. Campbell was in • Lucan Wednesday evening to speak at a Masonic lodge meeting and while staying overnight with friends in Exeter, became ill and was taken to the hospital. Dr. Campbell practised in Zurich for 25 years before • taking up residence in Toronto. He was a Pastmaster of Huron Lodge A.F. & A.M. 224, Hensall, and a chartered member of Huron & Bruce Lodge, Toronto. Sometime ago, a group of Masons from this area journeyed to Toronto to honor Dr. • Campbell. His wife, the former Amy Murdock of Hensall, predeceased him in 1964. Surviving are two daughters, Misses Jean and Dorothy Campbell, Toronto; one son, Keith, Windsor and one • granddaughter, Barbara. Public funeral service was held Tuesday from the Bonthron Funeral Home conducted by Rev. John Huether of Zurich. Burial in Hensall Union Cemetery. Carmel WMC discuss "hope" The Women's Missionary Society of Carmel Presbyterian Church held their April meeting in the Sunday School room Monday evening with vice-president Mrs. George Walz opening the meeting with a prayer. Mrs. Rochus Faber and Mrs. Archie Hoggarth gave the study and devotional on the theme of Easter. A duet was sung by Mrs. Malcolm Dougall and Mrs. Pearl Love. Thirteen members answered the roll call with "Hope". Correspondence was read including a plea for used cancelled stamps to be saved for the Leprosy. The ladies were all in favor for this project. Mrs. Gordon Schwalm will continue to receive thesd stamps from all who will contribute. Several ladies are attending the Synodical of the London and Hamilton in Knox Church, Goderich, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Schwalm and Mrs. Harvey Hyde were ushers Wednesday afternoon at the Synodical. Next meeting will be held Monday,, May 5. Mrs. Harry Snell and Mrs. J. E. My instinct was right. When my wife attacked me, she attacked my wife. When I wrote a bum column, she told me.When there was sickness or trouble, she was right there, with ancient charms and cures that worked. She was not a pious woman, thank God. She was a virtuous woman, and a real Christian. She fed tramps, gave strength when it was needed, and love without stint. Dying, she didn't whimper to God. Most of her thoughts and words were about those she loved. She didn't want to leave, and fought to the last breath. Life is going to be different without Granny, but I have a feeling she won't be far away. She couldn't stand it. She'll be around as long as those who loved her are. Mrs. Gordon Schwalm and Mrs. Harry Strang, RR 3, Exeter, are attending the London and Hamilton Synodical of which they are members. It is being held in Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich, April 15,16,17. Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Campbell, Newfoundland, will return home this Saturday after spending a month with Mr, & Mrs. Eric Luther. They are parents of Mrs. Luther. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Chaffe and sons of Mitchell were recent visitors with Mrs. Chaffe's parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Corbett and Al, James Petty was admitted to South Huron Hospital, Exeter this week, where he is receiving treatment. Mr. & Mrs. Jack Peebles and family of London were recent visitors with Mr. & Mrs. Vic Stan and family and Mr. & Mrs. Len Noakes and family. Mrs. Margaret Tyndall of Brucefield was a recent visitor with Mrs. F.G. Bonthron. Mrs. Campbell of Denfield visited this week with her aunt, Miss Flora Petty. Mrs. Harry Kiungel left last Monday by jet to visit relatives in the Netherlands. She will spend three weeks there. Mrs, Harold Bonthron is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where she underwent surgery. Randy Moir, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Moir underwent an emergency appendectomy in St. Joseph's Hospital last week. He is in Kindergarten at Hensall Public School. Mrs. Marie Beatrice Dow, resident of Blue Water Rest Home, was taken to South Huron Hospital last Wednesday.
