Action was taken by the Provincial board of directors on the motion passed by the Provincial board which stated that no director of the Union was to sit on the General Farm Organization organizing committee in the name of the Union. Mr. Delmar Bennett refused to go by the decision of the board and also refused to resign from the provincial board of directors. This forced the board to take the only action left which was to remove Mr. Bennett from the board of directors. This action was taken by the complete board of directors during the last week of March and not by the executive as reported by some, earlier in March. District director Jerry Huzuka commented to the meeting on the National Task Force report. Public Relations chairman Joe O'Neill reported that Mr. Erhard Pfingeton, Vice-president of the American, National Farmers Organization who spoke to the Union convention in Kingston last November, will speak in More then 140 past and present members attended the 20th anniversary of the Lucan Junior Farmers and Junior Institutes held at the Lucan Arena auditorium, Saturday night. Alfred Ovens was master of ceremonies for the evening while Kathy Robinson and Pat Rock led a sing song during the dinner hour. Mrs. Don Rock introduced the head table that included the Hon. W.A. Stewart, Minister of Agriculture and Food and Mrs. Stewart, Bernard Benn president in 1949; Mrs. Jack Ryan, first president of the Lucan Junior Institute; John Wahl and Doreen Crawford, president of Middlesex Junior Farmers and Allan Robinson, Lucan Junior Farmer president and past president John Riddell and their guests. The feature of the evening program was a presentation entitled "Highlights of former years." Chaired by Ron White the program began with two of the present members, Violet Tweddle and Arthur Mercer dressed as newborn babies, symbolizing the birth of the Junior Farmer organization in Lucan. The Wonders dressed an. in grass skirts and Hawaiian Leis thrilled the crowd with their kickline antics. The charming set included Bernard Benn, Jack Ryan and Gerard Crunican joined by Vie Hodgins singing "Does your Spearmint lose its flavour on the bedpost overnight." In the next setting, Nancy Kestle and John Mcllhargey rocked their way into everyone's hearts with their reminiscing of events through the years. The program ended with Harvey Rollings "Spying" on highlights of joint meetings held during the past 20 years. The Perth County Playboys supplied dancing music that was enjoyed by all.
