attended the Good Friday
evening church service in
Thames Road Church when the
elders from both churches met
the new members who were
joining the church by profession
of faith.
Sunday morning service at
the church the three new elders
were inducted, Reg Hodgert,
Glenn Jeffery and Lorne
Passmore. The other elders are
Arnold Cann, Wilfred Hunkin
and Jack Stewart.
Five new members joined the
church by profession of faith,
They are Robert Bray, Barry
Miller, John Miner, Scot Morgan
and Calvin Rohde,
EASTER NIGHT EVENT
Quite a number attended the
service at Elimville Church
Sunday evening.
Mrs. Philip Johns was at the
piano and Mrs. Ray Cann led in
a sing song. Mrs. Stewart Miner
conducted the worship service
which was very interesting.
A film "Frontier Hospital"
was shown. The hospital was at
Baie Verte, Newfoundland.
Miss Ethel Miner was seen in
the film several times,
HAPPY DOUBLES CLUB
The March meeting of the
Happy Doubles Club was held
last Wednesday evening with 21
members present.
Theme for the meeting was
"The Old Rugged Cross.' The
call to worship, scripture and
prayer were given by Donald
Bray. A reading "Headlines of
Long Ago" was offered by Mrs.
William Rohde.
A pageant "The Old Rugged
Cross" was given by Mrs. Donald
Bray and Mrs. William Rohde
with Mrs. Ray Cann singing the
Old Rugged Cross between
readings. The worship service
closed with the benediction.
Mrs. Miner played a Don
Lonie record and also spoke a
few words on the 3 R's —
responsibility, respect and
religion. She closed with prayer.
Mr. Bill Rohde favored with
several numbers on the violin
accompanied by Ray Cann on
the piano. Several contests were
then held.
Lunch was served by the
committee in charge, Don and

COMMUNITY NIGHT
The last community night for
this spring was held Monday
evening in Farquhar Hall with
four tables of euchre in play.
Prizes were won by ladies'
high, Mrs. Harold Rowe; ladies'
low, Brian Mayer (he played as a
lady); lone hands, Mac Hodgert;
men's high, Reg Hodgert; men's
low, Lee Webber.
Lunch was served by the
committee in charge, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Mayer and Mr. and
Mrs. William Rohde.
