and deciding game by taking the

Centralia, Wednesday night.
Durham is now meeting
Georgetown in the MA
semi-final round. Georgetown

Barry Hearn opened the game
scoring at 13,26 converting
passes from Doug Galloway and
Dusty Aldis, Jim Aikens tied the
score less than four minutes
later.
In the second period, Murray
Stephens scored the second
Durham goal taking a pass
directly from Jim Nixon at the
face-off circle and beating
Wayne Parkinson in the L-I nets.
The Durham insurance goal
came at 11.32 of the closing
session from the stick of Bob
O'Flaherty on a scramble around
the Jets' cage.
Both goal tenders, Wayne
Parkinson of the L-I club and
Gord Becker of Durham turned
in standout performances.
A total of 21 penalties, aft
minors were handed out by
referee Frank Slota of
Kitchener.
BIG CROWD
The largest crowd of the
season 1,280 at the Centralia
arena, Wednesday saw the Jets
turn in one of their better
efforts of the year in taking care
of the Huskies by a 6.4 score.
The Jets took a two goal lead
in the first period and increased
the margin by another goal early
in the second before the Durham
scoring machine got started.
Bill Neil, one of three Jet
performers to score two goals
during the game started his club
off on the right foot at 7,25
completing a nice passing play
originated by Jacques Cousineau
and Jamie Robb.
Four minutes later, Jack
Nairn put the Jets two goals
ahead beating Durham goalie
Gord Becker from close in. Doug
Galloway and Don Urbshott
assisted on the play.

an assist. The Huskies bounced
back quickly with two goals to
get into contention en the
scoreboard.
Jerry Herman and Bob
O'Flaherty triggered the
successful Durham shots. At
13,43 of the same period,
Jacques Cousineau regained the
two goal margin for the Jets '
finishing off a play started by
Jamie Robb.
Near the end of the period
with Barry Hearn of the Jets' off
for roughing defencernen Steve
Storey and Ron Ryan each slid
in front of dangerous Durham
shots to keep the visitors off the
score sheet,
With a two goal lead going
into the third period, the Jets
were able to come right back
each time after a Durham
counter to maintain their edge.
Jim Aikens fired a Durham
goal at 5.25 and four minutes
later Jacques Cousineau picked
up a loose rebound and found
the scoring range after Robb had
moved the puck into scoring
position with a fine stick
handling effort.
Herman notched his second
goal of the night before Bill Neil
supplied the clincher to the L-I
win with a long shot from the
blue line that took a crazy hop
and eluded Becker in the
Durham net.
The Huskies drew five of the
eight penalties assessed by
referees Bruce McFadden of
London and Ray Richards of
Stratford.

Kleinstiver fired the puck into

A minute and five seconds
later, Preszcator notched his
second goal of the afternoon
finishing off a three-way passing
effort with Pete Glover and Don
Kirk.
With Exeter playing a man
short, Mark Trivitt scored at
16.48 to cut the Exeter lead to
7-6 and the score remained
unchanged despite a furious
attack by the visitors.
Bill Inch in the Exeter net
came up with many good saves
in the last two minutes of play
to preserve the victory. The
young goalie made a terrific
stick stop on a shot by Robbie
Lockie with less than 20 seconds
to go in the game.
CAME CLOSE
In Keswick, Friday, the
Exeter kids battled back to tie
the score at 6-6 late in the third
period only to have South Shore
score a goal at 16.36 and then
fire the insurance marker into an
empty net when the locals had
the pressure on trying for the
equalizer.
Randy Preszcator was the top
Exeter scorer with three goals to
his credit. Robbie Lindenfield
added two and Don Kirk scored
a singleton.
Robbie Lockie paced South
Shore with a hat trick, Don
Gilbert and Gary Jerome each
scored twice and Mark Trivitt
added the other marker.
