For the March 26 meeting of
the Staffa Women's Institute,
the members held an all day
quilting and pot-luck dinner in
the Township Hall.
During the day four quilts
were quilted for the War
Memorial Hospital at London.
In the afternoon Mrs. Lloyd
Miller presided for the meeting.
There were 17 members and
two visitors present. The roll call

Hodgins were Mr. & Mrs. Mervin
Baker, Mr. & Mrs. Clare Bryan,

A community euchre was
held Friday evening at the
Community Centre with Mrs.
Mary French in charge, Five
tables were at play.
Prizes went to ladies high,
Neighbouring clubs from
Parkhill, Clinton and Goderich
swelled the attendance to nearly
50 at the Mary Hastings Pot
Luck Supper in Shipka
Community Centre March 25.
New President Mrs. Harold
Finkbeiner welcotned everyone,
It was decided to send the
president and secretary treasurer
to the annual spring banquet
May 2 in London using club
funds to finance their trip.
Two cards were signed and
sent to two members, Mrs. Percy
Noels, Goderich Hospital and
Mrs. Joe Finkbeiner in South
Huron Hospital. The secretary
will receive $5 for services
rendered, Mrs. Ruth Greb will be
the new vice-president and to
choose her own secretary-
treasurer.
The annual picnic will be in
Dashwood August 3.
Mrs. Mamie Sutcliffe,
Goderich, volunteered to
auction off the leftovers and the
club realized $2.80.
Tables were arranged for the
euchre with prizes going to Mrs.
Frank Cummings, Clinton for
the high score; low, Mrs. Mabel
Desjardine; lone hands, Mrs.
Laura Miller; hidden score, Mrs.
Myrtle Good, Goderich; hidden
score, Mrs. Mary Robertson,
Clinton; oldest housewife, Mrs.
Graham, Parkhill, (80); lucky
chair, Mrs, Esther Kendall,
Goderich; winner of grocery
box, Mrs. Marie Dinney,
Crediton.

The annual dinner and outing
of Court Valentine Lady
Foresters Lodge, Granton, was

to Lucan to a bowling party.

During the church service on

William C. Hey, $4, passed
away at his late residence
Sunday, March 30. He had been
in failing health for some time.

Harry Hoffman funeral home
where service was held
Wednesday, April 2 with Rev. E.
E. Steinman in charge.
Interment was made in Exeter
cemetery,

Harry Hartleib, John Neerburg
and Mervyn Tiernan.
Mr. Hey farmed prior to
moving to Dashwood several
years ago.
