pretty wedding recently when
Carolyn Ruth Taylor, daughter
of Mrs,, tamer:ice Taylor, Grand.
Bend, and the- late Mr. Taylor,
was united irt marriage to Myron
Nelson Skinner,: son. ofMr, and.
Mrs, John Skinner, Ailsa Craig,
Candelabra, mums, ferns and
art arch entwined: with ivy
formed the, setting for the
double ring ceremony conducted
by Mr. Arnold Gratten, 'Miele of
the bride,
The wedding music was
fUrnished by organist Mrs. Ross
Love, Dashwood,
Escorted by her brother, the
bride chose imported white
lutzsang for het gown. The
bodice • was highlighted with a
batteau. neckline, • wrist length
sleeves, .and with elegance
portrayed in a gently controlled
'Mine' skirt. Delicate Swiss
guipure lace accented the.
neckline, wrists and two. bands
at the hemline, The back of the
gown featured tiny .covered
buttons from neckline to waist,
with a detachable chapel length
train failing softly from a bow
trimmed in the same Swiss
guipure lace at the Empire waist.
Her scalloped four-fiered French
silk illusion veil was gathered to
a crown headpiece of seed pearls
and crystals, She carried a
cascade of white orchids,
stephanotis .and polished ivy.
Mrs. Wray Ogborne, Chula
Vista, California, was matron of
honor for her sister. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Allan Taylor, Exeter,
sister-in-law of the bride and
Miss Dianne Taylor, Grand
Bend, sister of the bride.
The attendants looked
charming in their identical
floor-length fuchsia imported
lutzsang gowns featuring batteau
neckline, dainty puff sleeves and
empire A-line skirt. The
highlight of the gowns at the
backs were soft bows attached at
empire waists from which
cascaded two floor-length panels
of the same material.. They
carried bouquets of white mums,
pink carnations, ivy, and white
ribbon loops to their hemlines.
The groom's attendants were
bestman Alec Turnbull of RR 1
Dashwood, ushers Allan Taylor
of Exeter and Bryn Gillies of
Ailsa Craig.
The bride's mother received
guests in -a delicate aqua brocade
dress, white feathered hat with
aqua trim, matching shoes and
bag. She wore a corsage of yellow
sweetheart roses.
Assisting Mrs. Taylor, the
groom's mother. .wore„
and silver brocade dress, corSage
of crimson sweetheart -roses,
white feathered - hat -and.
matching silver accessories.
For travelling, the bride
changed into a coral knit suit,
matching hat, Autumn Haze

The bride is the elder
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Ellison
Whiting, Parkhill, The groom is
the son of James. Conway and
the late Mrs. Conway of
Falkland, B.C. Mrs, Alice Dixon
of Parkhill presided at the organ
and accompanied the soloist,
Miss Marie Fisher of North Bay.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose
traditional white peau de soie
for her floor-length princess
style gown. Wide Swiss guipure
lace threaded with satin ribbon
edged the bateau neckline and
continued over the shoulders to•
accent the chapel train. Similar
lace formed high cuffs on the
long fitted sleeves. Her bridal
outfit was completed with a
four-tiered veil of silk illusion
gathered to a cluster of white
organza roses and seed pearls.
She carried a white Bible crested
with a classic cascade of
stephanotis centred with a white
orchid,
Miss April Whiting was her
sister's maid of honour and Miss
Coralyn Donaldson of North
Bay was bridesmaid; They were
identically gowned in corded
blue taffeta made on princess
lines. Back interest was centred
in a self-bow at the waist from
which a gathered panel fell in
soft folds in a very slight train.
Their head pieces of silk illusion
were attached to circlets of tiny
white organza flowers and seed
pearls. They carried nosegays of
bronze shasta mums accented
with star flowers and orange
bearded wheat.
The groom was attended by
Gordon Whiting, Watford,
brother of the bride. Guests
were ushered by Melvin
Liversage of London and James
/Hodgins of Parkhill. Junior
ushers were John. Love of
Parkhill and Stewart Love of
Toronto.
Following the ceremony, a
reception and beffet,dinner,was'
held , in the 'Ohurch ,Hall,

The bride and groom left
immediately for their new home
in Thompson. For travelling, the
bride wore a winter white coat
with fur collar and cuffs over a
red bonded wool faille dress. Her
accessories matched her dress
and her corsage was red roses.
The bride is a graduate of
Victoria Hospital School of
Nursing and has been on the
staff of Wrinch Memorial
Hospital, Hazelton, B.C. for the
past year.
Mr. and Mrs. Conway will be
residing at Lot 26, Ospwagen
Drive, Thompson, Manitoba.
