On the occasion of the
eightieth birthday of Mrs.
William Welsh, Exeter, her
family gathered to pay tribute at
a festive Thanksgiving dinner at
the Grosvenor Club, London.
• Also honoured for their
October birthdays were six other
family members, Miss Elizabeth
Welsh (sister-in-law), Mrs. Lyle
Roberts (daughter), Mrs. R.Y.
Marr, Ron Nixon, Paul White
and Miss Deborah White
(grandchildren).
The favourite flower of Mrs.
Welsh, the yellow rose bud, was
the accent theme for the
decorations. Garlands of myrtle
were the background to offset
two yellow rose bud
arrangements with a three-tiered
cake accented with yellow rose
buds and topped with an 'eighty'
fashioned of icing.
Each birthday celebrant was
presented with a yellow
carnation corsage by Mr. and
Mrs. Brown Stewart, friends of
of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Howe,
Livonia, Michigan,
Mrs. K.L. Werner, London,
and Miss Verna Coates visited
Monday at the home of Maurice

several. months.
The staff presently is capable
of turning out 150 cabinet units
per month and is working at full
strength to fill the many .orders
that are coming in.
The..Gebel'a do. not employ
salesmen to take orders,
depending solely on • direct
orders and the word of satisfied
customers.
They have been fitting large
apartments and town houses in
London, Chatham and 'Sarnia.
The Clandeboye firm stresses
excellent workmanship and does
all of its own installation work.
While the basic material used
in the manufacture of most of
the cabinets is birch, vinyl is
being used on the cabinet doors.
Gebel says the vinyl finish is
durable, easy to maintain and
never needs refinishing.
A showroom has 'been set up
in the southern portion of the
new building to allow
prospective customers an
opportunity to inspect the
various types of cupboards.
Mr. and Mrs. Gebel and two
sons, Erwin and Peter are
working full time in the cabinet
making industry. They also have
two daughters, Susan and
Marion.
