Farming instructors gather
In a unique move, Centralia's College of Agricultural Technology are
taking advantage of the facilities and experience of area farmers in
teaching a new course. Second year students will be spending one
day per week at area farms in practical farming lessons. The farmers
will be acting as part-time instructors. Above, a group of area

Rumble strip slows traffic
After many years of discussing ways and means of reducing
accidents at Exeter's north end intersection of highways 4 and 83, a
rumble strip has been installed. Intermittent patches of rough road
surface have been placed on both approaches of highway 83 in an
attempt to slow traffic approaching the corner. Above, is a picture

The October meeting of
Dashwood WI was held last
Tuesday with the Agriculture
and. Gartadian Industries group in
ch4rge and Mrs. Milford Monier
congener..
Thiswas their safety meeting
and roll call was a safety hint on
highway or farm. Mrs. Merner
also commented on the motto,
"Buried seeds grow and buried
talents never"
ConstableJohn Wright of the
Exeter police detachment was
guest speaker and gave the ladies
a most instructive talk on safety
and rules of the highway.
Mrs, Glen Webb, president,
chaired the business. Mrs. Carl
Oestreicher, Mrs. Glen Webb,
and Mrs. Sid Baker were
appointed delegates to the fall
rally at Cranbrook.
The next meeting will be held
October 29 due to the London
area convention at Ingersoll
November 5 and 6.

The Bill Johnsons are the
proud owners of a beautiful pair
of antlers measuring 52 inches
across. Bill experienced the thrill
of a lifetime last week when he
shot a moose on his first hunting
trip. He was hunting in the
Kapuskasing area.

Hall Sunday afternoon in
honour of Mrs. Albert Harlton's
90th birthday were Miss Agnes
Anderson, Mr. & Mrs. W. Elliott
and Mr. & Mrs; Ken Hodgins.
Mrs. Harlton was a former

the Saintsbury Parish Hall

meeting of which the theme was
"Thanksgiving".
Mrs. William Snow read the
Scripture Lesson. Mrs. Edwin
Miller and Mrs. Lloyd Hackney
gave readings.
The topic taken from the
Study Book was given by Mrs.
Glen Stewart and Mrs. Jack
Stewart.
A vocal duet by Mrs. Donald
Bray and Miss Doris Elford was
enjoyed.
Mrs. William Rohde opened
the business part of the meeting.
A collection for the Hospital
Auxiliary Tag Day and a
thankoffering envelope
collection were taken.
Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne and
Mrs. Ray Cann will be delegates
to the South Huron Perth
sectional meeting.
It was decided that each
member donate $2 by the
November meeting to help raise
the budget; and to entertain the
Messengers to a Halloween
party.
