worry by directors and members
has reached fruition with the.
Opening of these facilities to the
bean growers of the district-
Repairs and alterations have-
been made which should help to
provide the kind of service,
which is required.
With the installation of a new
drier and additional handling,
facilities for grain corn, this
elevator should now provide
year-round service to growers
and feeders alike.
The board of directors
engaged, a general manager to
develop this part of the business
and co-ordinate it with the rest
of, the Co-operatives' branches
and services.
Archie Cooper, who for the
past five years has been manager
of Mitchell Co-pperative, and for
15 years prior to that was
engaged in the feed, fertilizer
and farm supply business,
commenced these duties in
Hensall at the end of August.
Baby clinic

abandoning a sink full of dishes
for an afternoon of shopping.
Dr. Evans is generally
available at the well baby clinic
for consultation. Sound medical
ability and a tremendous
capacity to understand make Dr.
Evans a valuable friend who
really wants to help.
Strangely enough, this free
service is often shunned by
people who feel it is for people
who cannot afford to see a
doctor in his office.
Public health nurses dismiss
• this as "nonsense".
Everyone who pays taxes in
Huron County has contributed
to the cost of public health
services. To pass up this dividend
on your money is like buying a
new hat and letting it sit on the
shelf.
In the overall picture, the
Huron County Health Unit
works toward a healthier happier
life for all who live within its
jurisdiction. Many additional
services such as mass testing to
detect various kinds of cancer,
programs for the elderly and
greater control over public
centres such as parks, schools •
etc. are planned.
Is it any wonder, then, that
many public health workers feel
that public health services
shouldn't be housed in c•
basements and, gymnasiums?,
A closer flagon between
doctors, patients and the public
health unit is the goal of public
health advocates who want the
ultimate in health services for
the people of Huron County.
The Centralia College of Agricultural Technology has outfitted a trailer with displays and exhibits
outlining courses available at the district school and will be visiting Fall Fairs in Grey and Bruce County
in the next couple of weeks. Above, staff members, Lois Schultz and Mrs. Margaret Fouts are checking a
home economics poster, part of the exhibit. Below, Doug Jamieson and Jack Underwood, also members
of the college staff are setting up a film projector ready for outdoor use at the fairs. T-A photos.
