He taught art at Windsor and was on the staff of Rose- dale School, Toronto, Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. William (Marion) Leadley in British Columbia, Mrs. David (Margaret) Butler, Geelph, and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Coughlin, Clandeboye, three nephews, Tom, Richard and Robert Butler and two nieces, Kathleen and Karen Coughlin, Clandeboye. A brother Carl, predeceased him in 1958. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 29 at the C. Haskett and Son funeral home, Lucan with burial in St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye. Pall- bearers were Messrs. John Simpson, Clarence Carter, Bev- erley Cunningham, Victor Hod- gins, Albert Gilmour and Roy Cunningham. Flower bearers were Arthur Hodgins, Alan Hill, Joe Carter, Ralph Lynn and Alton O'Neil. Hooper herd is dispersed The 101 -head Ham °serest Hol- stein herd of Hooper Brothers Farm, St. Marys, was sold at a dispersal sale Tuesday f o r $151,520, or an average price of $1,500, the highest sale av- erage for a dairy herd in Cana- da this year. The huge crowd attending the sale included buyers from Italy, Britain, Mexico and the U.S., indicative of the international reputation of the herd. Top price paid was $25,000 by Jerome E. Freiburger of RR 1 Britton, for Thames Crest Master Ella, a three-year-old heifer classified by the Holstein- Friesian Association of Canada as "very good." The same buyer also purchased her two-year-old maternal sis- ter for $1,900, and an e excellent" cow for $4,200. The foundation cow of the herd was sold to J. Rae and Howard Jones of RR 4 Thorndale, for $1,375, while one of her grand- daughters sold for $5,800 to Claude Picket of Georgetown. A second granddaughter was sold to Agro Brothers Farm, Hamilton, for $3,100, and a third to Arthur Haverkamp of RR 5, Goderich, for $1,400. Charles L. McLean of Repub- lic, Mo., paid the second highest price —$9,100 and N. T. Nelson of Tempe, Ariz., the third highest - $7,100- for cows classi- fied as "excellent." Mr. Dawson Woodburn is on a trip to England and several European countries. Miss Carol Brown of Port Hope spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ross Brown. Rev.
