secretaries Of each focal UCW
at Winghani, Clinton, Hethel-

The purpose of these work-
shops was to keep the new UCW
Policy of self-determination fin-
aneing and to give an opportunity
to renew knowledge of the work
of the United Church. This pur-
pose was emphasized in a panel
discussion by Mrs. Ray Wilhelm,
Mrs. Stewart Miner, Mrs. A.
Sinclair, and Mrs. Walter Mc-
Donald at the Bethel-Munro
meeting.
Two questions were asked,
"what in the world is the church
doing?" and "Do you really want
to know?". These were answer-
ed by charts and slides showing
• projects which the United Church
sponsors through Overseas and.
Home Missions. At home per-
sonnel for hospitals, schools and
churches, counselling for stu-
dents, underprivileged, the
elderly and the Indians; over-
seas, doctors, nurses, teachers,
• agriculturists, aid for refugees
and famine relief were some of
these projects.
It is surprising what a dollar

sions, 261 - Home Missions, 81

cil and Administration, 151 pen-

and 4e for Finance. Other fin-
ancial figures presented were-
$5 will provide milk for 69 child-
ren in Korea for one month,
$15 will pay for a cataract oper-
ation and $800 will drill a deep
well in Indore, India.
In discussion groups, the
Chairmen for Finance discussed
the above projects and a sys-
tematic budget outline ranging
in givings from $5 ..to 151 per
month for a ten month period
was presented.
