CENTRALIA
A large congregation including
many visitors attended the Easter
service in the United Church on
Sunday morning. Rev. Wilson de-
livered a fine sermon using as his
subject "The Mistakes of Mary".
The choir sang an anthem and
Mrs. Russell Wilson sang the
beautiful solo "Alone".
ATTEND SUNRISE SERVICE
Three carloads of Young Peo-
ple motored to Lucan to attend
the Easter sunrise service and
breakfast at the United Church.
The service was sponsored by
the members of the Hi C.

A letter was read from the
adopted daughter Aida Zarafati
of Italy.
The draw for the lucky ticket
holler on the card table was
made by Elaine Cunningham and
was won by Mr. Jim McCarthy
of Granton. A donation of $77.69
was made toward Clandeboye

FORMER RESIDENT PASSES
Wilbert "Bert" Richard Wil-
liams, 85, formerly of Clandeboye
died in St, Joseph's Bospital,
London, on April 15.
He was a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. William Williams and
uncle of Rupert Williams, Clap-
deboye, and. John Williams,
Sarnia,
A private funeral service was
held at the C. Haskett & Son
funeral home, Lucan, with Rev.
Charles Scott officiating on Wed-

E aster lilies made an at-
tractive setting in St. Andrews
United Church, Kippen, when the
United Church Women held their
Easter Thankoffering meeting.
The hostesses for the evening
were Mrs. Bert Faber and Mrs.
Keith Lovell.
About eighty ladies were in
attendance. Guests were present
from Zurich UCW, Brucefield
UCW, Chiselhurst UCW and
Presbyterian WMS and Arnold
Circle, Hensall. The guests were
welcomed by Mrs. Emmerson
Kyle. Mrs. Ross. Broadfoot pre-
sided at the organ.
Mrs. Robert Elgie conducted
the worship using the topic "A
Meditation on Easter". The pres-
ident Mrs. Emmerson Kyle was
in charge of the meeting and
gave an inspiring Easter medi-
tation followed by prayer. Mrs.
Keith Lovell sang two solos, "The
Wound Most Painful" and “into
the Woods My Master Went."
The offering was received by the
ushers Mrs. William Consitt and
Mrs. Ray Consitt.
Mrs. Ronald McGregor intro-
duced the guest speaker, Miss
Kathryn McGregor of Clinton who
gave a most interesting talk on
her trip to Japan in April and
May of 1965. Mrs. Edison McLean
gave the courtesy remarks.
After the benediction a social
hour was spent, lunch was served
in the Sunday School room with
Group three in charge.

communion was dispensed.
