The .soft spoken, veteran goalie
of the Leafs answered puestions
for nearly an hour from eager
youngsters who participated In
the Liona Club minor hockey
program.
One of the first ooestiona fired
by the Irish youngsters was,
"Do you get scared when Bobby
Hull moves in on the net?", and
Bower's answer was, 4 ,No, I just
get .sick,"
Bower, who very carefully
avoided revealing his age, said he
didn't expect to be protected in
the upcoming draft and would
be willing to go anywhere, al
though he preferred Minnesota
because of the colder weather.
He said he didn't like playing
in the warmer climates of Cali-
fornia,
He went on to say that Bruce
Gamble should be the'Leawnunri,
bet' one goalie for the 1966-69.
season with Al Smith as the
relief man.
Bower blamed the Leafs' fail-

The Hockey House League
Tournament was held in Lucan
Arena Wednesday evening of last
week. The ((Eagles" were the
winning team and were presented
with the trophy. Bruce Mills,
Joe French, Donald Neil and
Bob Morley from Whalen were
among the players in the ((Eagle"
team. Monday evening a banquet
was held in the Anglican Church,
Lucan, for the players of th e
Hockey House League and their
fathers, Johnny Bower, Toronto,
was the guest speaker.
