May 23 at Grand Bend. The WI
will sponsor a piano recital for
Miss Idella Gabel.

spent the weekend at Peter-
borough with Dr. and Mrs. A.C.

nual skating carnival in which

tier took part.

The monthly meeting of St.
John's-by-the-Lake Anglican
Church was held Tuesday evening
in the parish hall. Mrs. John
Aselstyne presided and special
guests were Rev. and Mrs. E.
Insley and Mrs. Doug Yourex.
The chief business was an ex-
hibit of several new ideas for a
Boutique and Crafts Fair to be
held early in July which will
replace the former annual baz-
aar. The usual bake sale will be
included.
Mrs. Ken Young and Mrs. You-
rex were in charge of the new
ideas for sales.
The colored slides from Rev.
K. S. Earl, the prayer partner
of the group, who is in the Ca-
nadian West, were shown after
the morning service on Sunday.
Rev. Insley closed the meeting
with prayer.
EXETER LADY IS SPEAKER
The UCW Evening Unit met
Tuesday evening with thirty six
present.
Mrs. Robert Keyes, leader of
the unit, opened the meeting with
a poem.
Mrs. Wm. Blewett and Mrs.
Robert Jennison were in charge
of the devotional part of the meet-
ing assisted by Mrs. C. Kennedy.
The ladies from Church of God
were guests. The guest speaker
Mrs. Douglas Warren of Exeter,
was introduced by Mrs. Wm
Brenner. Mrs. Louise Wilson
thanked Mrs. Warren.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Allan Parker and her committee.
FLAGS DEDICATED
At the Sunday morning worship
service at Grand Bend United
Church, Rev. G. E. Morrow dedi-
cated the new Canadian flag and
the Christian flag, a gift from
Mrs. Leroy Barlteau in loving
memory of her late husband, Le-
roy Bariteau. Also the reception
of twelve young people on pro-
fession of faith and two members
by certificate.
The Sacrament of the Lord's
Supper was also observed.
