BY J. F. BURT
Last Friday night March 8, the
Shamrock playoffs got under way
here at the centre.
In the pee wee division in a
firstgame of a two game total goal
series it was Buren East over
Ilderton by a score of 3-1. In the
bantam series in the first game pf
a two game total goal series it
was Ilderton 5. Lucan 2 and in the
midget class in the second game
of a two game total goal series it
was Lucan '7 Dorchester 2.
Dorchester won the first game
8-$, Lucan wen the series 10-8.
It looked as if Dorchester was
going to take it though, as the
game was tied 2 all half way
through but then the Lucanites
made it 3-2 at the end of the
second period.
In the third period they decid-
ed they could win it all, and to
prove it they scored 4 unanswer-
ed goals to win going away. At
the present time we don't know
who their opponents will be in the
final round,
In novice Shamrock hockey on
Saturday afternoon, it was Lucan
4, Huron (8) 3. The second game
was washed out as Exeter got
their game time mixed up so Hur-
on (A) and Huron (B) played an
exhibition tilt with Huron (B)
winning 4-1.
In the third game Stoneybrook
pulled an upset beating Lambeth
3-2. There was also an upset in
the fourth game as Dorchester
walloped Strathroy 6-1 in the
South Middlesex league final play-
offs, last Thursday night, in a two
3 out of 5 series. Ailsa Craig took
a 2-1 lead over Esquire Hotel in
the (A) series with a decisive 4-1
victory and in the (B) series Ild-
erton took the lead two games to
one, over Lambeth with a 4-3,
10 minute overtime victory.
Jamie Robb of Ilderton had a
real fine night as he scored all
4 goals,
