four non-reportable accidents
with total damage amounting to
$2,324.
Other statistics in the report

Two charged under the Crim-
inal Code, four under the High-
way Traffic Act, one under by-
laws, 40 parking tags issued, 39
complaints investigated, 19 sum-
monses issued for other forces,
one theft at Exeter Farm Equip-
ment with value of the goods

ating an automobile and safe-
guarding one's family by way of
hospital and medical insurance
will rise sharply in 1968.
The provincial tax on gasoline
went up two cents a gallon and
beginning December 1 automobile
licence fees will also go up.
Ontario Hospital premiums have
been upped by about 70% from
the present $6.50 per month for
a family to the new rate of

vincial tax on cigarettes was also

grant the request that artificial
ice be installed at the rink in the
pinery Park.
The request had been made
from council, backed by service
groups in the area.
The letter pointed out it would
be an impossibility to have arti-
ficial rinks in the over 40 provin-
cial parks.
Reeve Wassmann suggested
council should point out that the'
Pinery was one of the few parks
to have winter facilities.
Council agreed that this should
be done in another effort to have
artificial ice installed at the
park.
During the discussion, it was
reported that snowmobile trails
will be added to the park for
next winter.
In other business, council:
Authorized the clerk to adver-
tise the positions of lifeguards,
parking attendants, bath house
attendants, dock master and
grounds keeper for the green
areas in the resort. The applica-
tions will be opened at the April
1 meeting.
Asked the department of high-
ways to paint school crossing
zones on the highways and also
to clean and sweep the curbs
as soon as possible.
Agreed to join the Lambton
C o u n t y Municipal Association
which will meet in Petrone, on
March 22. The cost is $15, which
includes banquet tickets for
members of council.
Learned there was still $8,
221.78 outstanding with the OW-
RC for the test holes that were
dug on the beach in search for
a water supply some years ago.
About $3,300 of that is to be
paid this year, although some is
interest.
