LOTS OF HELP
A strong bench proved to be the
big difference in Crediton's 11-6
win over Graham and Graham,
Tuesday. The G & G team could
only ice seven players while the

strength,

free throws on a technical foul
called by the officials when
coach Shaw rushed on to the
floor to protest some of their
decisions. The coachlater apolo-
gized for what he termed "un-
sportsmanlike conduct."
In the late Saturday win over .
Seaforth, the starting five shared
very evenly in the scoring. In
addition to Nagel who scored
13 points, Ross Huff bagged eight
points, Bud Desjardine checked
in with seven while Bill Farqu-
har and Burton each picked up a
half dozen points.
LACK SCORING PUNCH
The South Huron juniors have
not been able to come up with
much of a scoring attack this
season as they only scored a total
of 42 points in their last three
starts,
In last Wednesday's 31-9 loss
to Wingham,- Bob Rowe, Ihor
Orenchuck, John Braid and Dale
MacKenzie each tossed in a
basket while Dave Marshall was
successful on one occasion on a
free toss.
Marshall was the top South
Huron junior performer inSatur-
day's loss to Seaforth, getting a
total of 10 points while Rowe
checked in with six.

CLOSE CONTEST
Thursday's Crediton - Old
Timers contest was a close battle
from start to finish with the
Tigers coming up with a pair of
goals in the last couple minutes
of play to pull out the 4-2 vic-
tory.
Don Pandas and Donny Schenk
scored singles for Crediton while
Ron Bogart found the range on
two occasions for the Old Timers
to keep the score even as paly
progressed into the final mom-
ents,
With time running out, Fred
Lamb and Eric Flnkbeiner beat
Doug Kennedy in the "Veterans"
net to insure victory for the
Crediton sextet.
PLENTY OF GOALS
The other game of the night
provided plenty of headaches for
the goal tenders as the emphasis
was on offense.
Bob Jones, continuing his tor-
rid scoring pace in the play-for-
fun loop, scored four times to
match the performance turned
in by team-mate Bill Heywood.
Pete McFalls blinked the light
twice while Chuck Becker and
Lloyd Moore checked in with
single scores to complete the
Bank Boys scoring total.

Wrestlers
perform well
Despite a 'noticeable lack of
experience, boys participating in
.the wrestling program at South
Huron District High School are
putting up a good show in Huron-
Perth Conference competition.
This is the first year that
South Huron has entered league
play and in their first two starts
have met clubs that have been in
operation for a couple of years.
In the league opener last Wed-
nesday, the locals, coached by
Ron Bogart were defeated 55-15
by Wingham and Saturday were
again on the short end of a 43-16
score to St. Marys.
Two of the SH competitors,
Bill Cameron in the 87 pound
class, and George Keller, at 120
pounds, have been successful in
winning both times out. Saturday
it only took Keller 30 seconds
to dispose of Dave Ford of St.
Marys while Cameron pinned
John Leitch of Wingham in the
first round.
The only other local wrestling
wins came Saturday as Jim Hoff-
man decisioned Roger Frayne of
St. Marys in the 165 pound divis-
ion and John Becker wrestling
at 95 pounds came up with a
similar win.
Other members of the South
Huron wrestling squad are: Rob-
ert Dale, John Prouty, Larry
Bourne, George Shaw, KevinMc-
Kinnon, Fred Simmons, Don
Jones, Herb Heywood, Ken Far-
well, Al Weiberg and MM. Hayter.

Jermyn tops
first draw
The new playoff system in use
this year for the first time in
the Exeter men's curling club
first draw is similar to that in
vogue in most sports these days
giving a goodly amount of clubs
a chance at the title,
The two rinks that went through
the season undefeated, those
skipped by Bill MacLean and
Peter Raymond, were eliminated
early and Dick Jermyn's four-
some, sixth place finishers in the
regular schedule, came on
strongly to win four straight
games in the sudden-death play-
offs to take home the title.
Jermyn defeated Ross Hod-
gert's crew in the final test
after sweeping past foursomes
headed by Lee Webber, Raymond
and Jim Hewitt, The Hodgert
rink reached the finals on the
strength of a 7-6 last end vic-
tory over Lee Learn. In earlier
competition, the finalists elim-
inated rinks skipped by Clarence
Down and Ward Kraft.
The championship rink that
received the Canadian Tire
trophy was skipped by Jermyn
and included Jim and Gerry Fin-
nen and Bruce Shapton. Other
members of Ross Hodgert's con-
tingent were Allan Westcott,
Glenn Lamport and Bill Allison.
Play in the second draw started
this week with each skip having
a complete new complement of
sweepers.
