went surgery in Victoria Hos-

ing satisfactory recovery.

Mervin J. Williams died sud-
denly from a heart seizure at
Clandeboye on Friday, October
27 in his 60th year.
He was a son of the late John
and Rebecca (Lewis) Williams.
Forty years ago he married Ger-
trude Lynn of Clandeboye. They
lived in Clandeboye where Mr.
Williams worked with cement.
At one time he sold his home
as the Department of Highways
needed more land in changing
the curves.
Surviving besides his wife are
one daughter, Mrs. William
(Edna) Arnold, London, and a
granddaughter, Doris Arnold.
Funeral services were con-
ducted by Rev. G. W. Sach at
the Murdy funeral home, Lucan,
on Monday, October 30 with in-
terment in Marrs Hill cemetery
at Brinsley.
Pallbearers were Robert Pin-
nell, (London), Earl Morley,
(Ailsa Craig), Maurice Simpson,
Clarence Carter, Jim Cunning-
ham and Arnold Lewis.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Cunning-
ham observed their 40th wed-
ding anniversary October 15.
They were married at home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Ritchie near Parkhill, with the
Rev. A. H. Foster of Parkhill
officiating.
They lived in McGillivray
township Con. 2, Lot 18. A few
years ago they moved near
Clandeboye in Biddulph town-
ship, Mr. Cunningham has abro-
ther Gordon and Mrs. Cunning-
ham has a brother, Will Ritchie,
Parkhill.

Mr. R. A. Campbell, Medway

speaker and spoke on "Science
vs. Religion". A lengthy dis-
cussion follwed.
Saturday the Lucan-Clarsie-

paper and bottle collection, As
the fees for an orphan adoption,
has been raised from $60 to $80
a year, it may be necessary to
hold a car-wash also.
