Clysdale spoke to the girls on
responsibility and integrity—two
qualities which any girl having
earned Guiding highest award—
the Gold Cord — certainly dOPOs-
sess.
To attend, and feel a part in a
ceremony such as this, is a great
inspiration to the Guides and
their leaders. Some of the Exeter
Guides made a decision then and
there, that they were going to try

Whenever friendS arrive for
an evening get-together, cheese
very often joins the party, If you
keep several types on hand it is
easy to arrange a colorful cheese
tray. Fresh fruit such as grapes
or pears, along with crackers and
potato chips, add interest and
flavor enjoyment.
Everyone is interested in tast-
ing a new type of cheese. Gour-
mets say that 'the only way to
learn about cheese is to eat it".
From the fifty or more types now
being made in Canada, it is inter-
esting to select several of the
lesser known ones for sampling.
However, plan to have larger
amounts of the old favorites on
hand. Serve it at room temper-
ature for best flavor.
Cheese can be used in count-
less ways for party appetizers:
their best to earn their Cords.
Once again, thanks to the driv-
ers, the trip was worth the drive,
and the afternoon well spent and
much enjoyed by all.
Other upcoming events this
fall include Operation Good Turn
Day, October 14, when Guides,
Brownies and Rangers all over
Ontario will celebrate the Cen-
tennial Year by undertaking a
special Good Turn.
The Guides have a Hallowe'en
Party planned for October 26,
and the annual mother and daugh-
ter banquet will be upcoming in
November for the Brownies,
Guides and their mothers.
Local Guiders for both Brown-
ies and Guides will be attending
Warrant Training in Hensall the
latter part of October.
