fant veil attached to a white bow

Miss Geraldine Blair was maid
of honor for her sister wearing
a floor-length gown of filmy rayon
chiffon over taffeta in centennial
rose in empire style with full
wrist-length sleeves. Her head-
piece was a bow of matching ma-
terial and she carried pink and
rose gladioli. Mrs. Marion Lam-
port, RR 1 Hensall, Miss Barbara
Hern, RR 1 Woodham and Miss
Brenda Blair. RR 1 Centralia,
as bridesmaids were go wned

a white floor-length gown similar
in style and trim to the other

was best man and ushering guests

A reception was held at Ex-
eter Legion Hall where the
bride's mother received guests
in a light blue brocade ensemble,
white accessories and corsage of
red roses. The groom's mother
assisted wearing a lime green
textured brocade dress with beige
and white accessories and cor-
sage of white and pink roses.
Serviteurs were Misses Shar-
on Fletcher, Judy Blair, Cathy
Flanagan, Bonnie Blair, JoAnne
Hedley and Pat Blair.
For travelling to the west coast
the bride wore a white jersey
knit two-piece dress with navy
accessories and corsage of red
roses.
On their return they will re-
side on Huron St., Exeter. The
bride is a graduate of London
Teachers' College.
Ninham arranged a miscellan-
eous shower at the Nurses Resi-
dence. Miss A. Claypole was
hostess for a luncheon shower
at the Glen Allen restaurant,
London.
The groom's cousin, Mrs. R.
Anglestaed, Dutton, entertained
at a linen shower.
Following rehearsal Mr, and
Mrs. A. H. Clarke entertained
the bridal party at their home
in London.

For travelling in New York
city, New York state and Mon-
treal, Canada, the bride changed
to an emerald green knit three-
piece suit with beige accessor-
ies and cymbidium orchid cor-
sage.
The couple will reside in
London.

Rev. A. P. Jansen performed
the marriage ceremony and Mr.

Five two-day Training Schools
for local leaders of the Huron
County 4-H Homemaking Club
fall project "Cotton Accessor-
ies for the Bedroom" are being
held in Hensall United Church
August 28 and 29: in First Pres-
byterian Church, Seaforth, Au-
gust 21 and 22; in Wesley Willis
United Church, Clinton, August
24 and 25; and in Wingham and
Wroxeter.
The schools begin at 10am and
finish at 4 pm each day.
The course emphasizes color
and arrangement that will help
create an attractive, restful and
convenient bedroom as well as
the making of accessories. Some
of the topics studied will be bias
piping, blind hemming, the mitred
corner and Italian hemstitching.

A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents,
the bride's mother receiving
guests in an aqua brocade dress
with white accessories and white
rose corsage. The groom's moth-
er chose a two-piece dress of
deep rose brocade with white ac-
cessories.
Members of the Ladies' Aid of
the church organized the buffet
luncheon.
For travelling in the northern
parts of Canada the bride wore a
two-piece bonded crepe suit of
cerise with patent accessories
and corsage of white roses.
The couple will reside in Ex-
eter.

Saturday evening a community
party was given for Mr. and
Mrs. Whitney Coates who have
moved to Exeter. About 70 friends
and neighbors gathered at the
clubhouse of the Exeter Golf
Course and presented them with

Group loses
727 pounds
Tuesday, August 15 the Cen-
tennial Slimmers (the local
TOPS) crowned their third queen,
Mrs. Nellie Trott of Grand Bend.
Mrs. Trott, who has only been a
member for six months, has lost
a total of 32 pounds. She was pre-
sented with a corsage and jewel-
lery.
The two previous queens, Mrs.
J. Johns and Mrs. H. Wells are
still working as hard as the rest
at knocking off a few more pounds.
At last Tuesday's meeting
members took inventory and it
was found the 27 members had
lost a total of 727 1/2 pounds.
With fall approaching and some
gains being recorded through the
summer it was decided to stiffen
regulations and hold competitions
to help achieve the desired re-
sults.

have returned home from visiting
friends and relatives in Winnipeg,
FlinFlon, North Battleford and
Hazenmore, Sask. also attending
the Pan-American games in Win-
nipeg and Gimli. Returning home
with them were Mr. and Mrs.
Percy Caves of North Surrey, BC.

where they were shown the
placing of the racks in the hive to
be filled and the processing of
