father, George Frederick
Armitage, who passed away
January 23, 1964; and a dear
mother and grandmother, Ethel
May Armitage who passed away
February 9, 1958.
Their faint last wish we would
like to have heard,
And breathed in their ear one
parting word;
Only those who have lost are
able to tell
The pain in the heart in not
saying farewell.
--Lovingly remembered and
sadly missed by daughters,
sons-in-law and grandchild-
ren. 19c
MARTENE — In loving memory
of our dear duaughter, Barbara
(Koehler) Martene who passed

Many a silent tear,
But always a beautiful memory
Of a daughter we loved so dear.
Lovingly remembered by Mom
and Dad. 19c
MARTENE — In loving memory
of our dear sister, Barbara
(Koehler) Martene who passed
away, January 22, 1964.
Her memory is a keepsake,
With which ,we will never part;
Though God has her in his keeping
We still have her in our hearts.
-- Lovingly remembered by sist-
ers Anne and Gloria. 19c
PARSONS -- In loving memory of
a dear husband, Lloyd, who
passed away three years ago,
January 14, 1964.
What would I give to clasp his
hand,
His happy face to see;
To hear his voice and see his
smile,
That meant so much to me.
-- Sadly missed and ever re-
membered by his wife Jennie.

new bridge
At the Biddulph Township in-
augural meeting, last Tuesday,
Rev. E. 0. Lancaster of the
Anglican Church had charge of
the devotions.
Committee appointments to the
council remained the same as
1966 but changes were made in
the fire and community centre
boards.
Appointed to the Biddulph com-
munity board were William Ir-
vine, James Ryan, John Bryan,
Kenneth Hodgins, Lloyd Mardlin,
Garfield Nixon and Allan Aitche-
son.
Mr. Bryan was appointed to the
Granton fire area board and Jo-
seph Haskett to the Lucan fire
area board. Clerk Austin Hod-
gins was named building inspect-
or.
Council also approved a de-
partment of highway plan, to link
the Centre Sideroad to the new
southern route of Highway 4.
The council had planned for an
Ausable bridge on concession 2
as its major project for 196'7
but learned at its inaugural meet-
ing a conservation dam had been
proposed for the area, which
would cover the proposed bridge
with water as the new dam would
be built less than a mile north of
the existing Highway 4 bridge.
Reeve Wilson Hodgins said he
would meet with the authority
as soon as possible to discuss the
situation.
