The girls gave an outline of what they had learned at their meetings. Miss Laing displayed a record book and reference file to show the visitors what this club entailed. Mrs. Carey gave the visitors an interesting ac- count of the two days she and Mrs. Laing had spent in Toronto as guests of the Ontario Depart- ment of Agriculture. The club's president, Mary Baines poured tea and the members served their guests fancy sandwiches and dainties. Mrs. Carter Ker- slake expressed the thanks and appreciation of the guests pre- sent. Mrs, Don Hendrick, convenor for Historical Research and Current Events, was in charge of the meeting. Many items were on display as well as the Tweedsrnuir Book with a new item added. "The family Tree of the Late Mr. and Mrs, Andrew Turnbull." Mrs. Garnet Patterson gave an interesting paper on the history of parts of Toronto. Roll call was "Name a Canadian author and the title of his or her book." The matte was discussed by Mrs. Elgin Webb. Mrs. Harold Walper, presi- dent presided for the business during which time $50 was voted to South Huron Hospital, Exeter; $10 to Children's Aid at Goderich; $10 to War Memorial Children's Hospital, London. Mrs. Ed Gill gave a report on the executive Board Meeting. Mrs. Leslie Adams gave a report on the London Area Convention which was held at Goderich. UCW MEETING The general meeting of the Grand Bend UCW was held Tues- day evening with Mrs. Charles Reeves conducting the opening worship, her theme being "Pray- er". She was assisted by Mrs. Alex Hamilton. Mrs. Hamilton also gave a report on the regional meeting which was held at Elimville. Mrs. W. Gill presided for the busi- ness. Final plans were made for the bazaar. Reports were given by all conveners, $10 was voted to the leader of the Messengers for supplies, also money to send three members of the Hi C's to Toc Alpha and one hundred dol- lars to Rev. and Mrs. Irwin who are studying this year in New York and $150 to over and above gifts. A 4-H Certificate for the com- pletion of 12 projects was pre- sented to Nelson Bilyea. It was learned that Micheal O'Shea had been chosen as one of the delegates to represent Ontario in the National 4-H Farm Club Week. Doug Avery, Perth County As- sistant Agricultural Represent- ative, was in charge of the awards and presentations made to the club members.
