won the Women's Auxiliary
Award for highest academie
standing in the 1966 Class of
Registered Nursing Assistants
of South Huron Hospital and it
was presented by Mrs. Delmer
Skinner, Hospital Auxiliary
president at the graduation ex-
ercises held in James Street
United Church Friday night.
The Board of Directors' Award
for the student showing great-
est growth in professional de-
velopment during the period of
training was presented to Miss
Barbara Nagle, Lucan, by Mr.
E. R. Hopper. The graduation
pins were also presented by Mr,
Hopper and the graduation di-
plomas to 11 graduates were
presented by Mrs. J. H. Del-
bridge, the instructress of the

A reception was held in the
church rooms for the large crowd
which attended this fourth grad-
uation program, Forty-one have
graduated since the training
school started at South Huron
Hospital and there are over 70
applicants for the next class.

Black, B ScN., MA„ principal
nursing consultant of the Re-
search and Planning Branch to the
Ontario Council of Health, Par-
liament Buildings, Toronto. Miss
Black, formerly of St. Marys,
trained at the Victoria Hospital
School of Nursing and graduated
while Mrs. Delbridge and Mrs.
Horton of South Huron staff were
also in training there, The latter
introduced Miss Black.
The speaker addressed her
remarks to the graduates say-
ing "You are entering a field
where you are needed and want-
ed, You found a door open to
you 10 months ago and I hope
you take the opportunity that
takes you farther up the ladder.
I urge you not to stop learning
but always increase your know-
ledge." Miss Black was thanked
by Mrs. J. G. Dunlop, chairman
Of the Board of Directors, who
presided for the program.
Administrator Miss Alice
Claypole welcomed the guests
and announced the awards. Dr.
M, Gans presented a Medical
Association Award to each grad-
ilate and each received a Super-
visory Staff Award presented by
Mrs. Winston Shapton and Mrs.
Walter Bentley and a SHE Staff
committee gift by Mrs. E. W.
Brady and Mrs. A. Johnston.

Exeter has a new club of about
19 ladies and all of them are
losers. They get together weekly
and endeavor to get rid of their
weighty problems.
The n am e of the group is
TOPS—Take Off Pounds Sensibly.
Each TOPS member sets her own
weight goal and diet in consul-
tation with her doctor. TOPS
helps her stick with it. Members
derive from one another the in-
spiration and incentive to shed
pounds. Each member has her
picture taken when she joins
the group and it is added to the
"rogues gallery".
Most important part of each
TOPS session is the weighing-
in ceremony and it is a private
affair. Only the "weigher" and
the "weighed" know the facts.
When a member reaches her goal
and maintains it for several
weeks she is eligible for KOPS
status which means Keep Off
pounds Sensibly.
Mrs. Douglas Gould is presi-
dent of the Exeter group, Mrs.
Leland Jory, vice-president;
Mrs. Ernest Wells, secretary
and Mrs. Garnet Shipman, treas-
urer. The members meet in the
Legion Auxiliary room,

tient in South Huron Hospital.
Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Kestle at-
tended the commencement ex-
ercises at Forest Heights Col-
legiate, Kitchener, Friday even-
ing when their grand-daughter
Janice Kestle received several
awards and was the valedictor-
ian of the graduating class.
Friends and relatives gathered
Saturday evening in honor of the
35th wedding anniversary of Mr.
& Mrs. Ed Sillery at the home
of Mr. & Mrs. Cal Wein.
Miss Diane Thompson, grand-
daughter of Mrs. Arthur Bieri-
ing, Hay P 0 at the graduation
exercises at the Clarke Road
High School, London, received
a proficiency award for obtain-
ing the highest average marks
in the whole school of 1400 stu-
dents. Also a $25 scholarship
award and the Student Council
award of Webster Dictionary with
the cover in the school colors.
Saturday visitors with Mrs.
E. Keyes were Mr. & Mrs. Frank
Dunn, Toronto, Mrs. Milton Fink-
beiner, Prince Albert, Sask.,
Mrs. Lorne Finkbeiner, Mr. &
Mrs. Tommy Rosser, London.
Mrs. M. Finkbeiner is staying
for a while.
Mr. & Mrs. Frank Mitchell
and son Hugh, Peace River,
visited with Mr. & Mrs. Her-
man Mitchell.
Linda Austerberry, Toronto, was
flower girl. Each attendant was
similarly gowned in a floor-
length sheath dress of oceanic
green crepe. Their flowers were
floral balls of rust-shaded pom-
pom mums carried on velvet
loops.
Dr, Robert Love, Detroit, was
groomsman for his brother; and
Bruce Cottrill, Brantford, and
Murray Love, London, ushered
guests.
A reception was held at the
Saugeen Golf Club, Port Elgin.
For their honeymoon trip to the
New England States the bride
changed to a raspberry velvet
dress, matching hat, light grey
wool coat and patent accessor-
ise.
The couple will live in Lon-
don.

Achievement Days for 4-H
Homemaking Clubs in taking the
current project "The Supper
Club" will be at five centres in
the county: Wingham, Howick,
Exeter, Seaforth and Auburn.
In Exeter, the district clubs
will meet at the South Huron
District High School December
10 at 9 am and at 1:30 pm.
The spotlight is on tea biScuits
and in the morning club mem-
bers judge a plate of biscuits
and plan menus.
The afternoon program is open
to mothers, relatives, WI mem-
bers and any who are interested.
It will consist of exhibits, dem-
onstrations and skits prepared
by the girls. Certificates and
awards will also be given.
When you are creaming butter
and sugar together, it's a good
idea to rinse the bowl with boil-
ing water first. They'll cream
faster.
You can remove rust stains
from a sink or tub by rubbing
them with a little kerosene.
Mrs. Peg Hunter-Duvar was
named president of the Exeter
Legion Auxiliary at the meeting

were discussed. It was decided
to hold the Christmas meeting
December 19 with gifts to be
exchanged, A Christmas party
for the Legion and Auxiliary
members' children will be held
Sunday afternoon, December 11.
A donation of $25 was voted
to the Children's Memorial Hos-
pital, London.

panied the soloist Miss Dorothy
Fenton.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther the bride wore a floor-
length gown of white iced crepe
with appliques of Brussels lace
on the fitted bodice and lily
point sleeves. The wide A-line
skirt dipped into a full chapel
train. A Parisienne styled bon-
net of matching crepe and tiers
of imported silk illusion held
her cape-length veil. Her bou-
quet of gardenias, baby mums,
stephanotis and baby tear 5
formed three continuous floral
balls joined by a corded ribbon.
Mrs. Helen Ivlykytyn of Van-
couver was matron of honor and
the bridesmaids were Miss
