Entering the church on the arm
of her father the bride wore a
traditional floor-length gown of
white peau de chorine silk de-
signed and made by the bride
herself. Styled along empire lines
the bodice featured a scoop neck-
line and three-quarter length
sleeves. The empire waistline
was accented with a band of
Guipure lace and stilt piping. A
detachable cathedral train ben-
dered with Guipure lace fell from
the shoulders, A matching wed-
ding ring headdress trimmed with
the lace held her stianilder-length
veil of silk illusion. She carried
a cascade of White Sweetheart
roses, ivy and myrtle.

Warren, Mich. was matron of
honor and bridesmaids, Miss
Sharon Martine and Miss Iris
Becker provided a colorful back.

velvet ribbon accented the empire
waistline with matching velvet
bows in the back. They wore

Guest speakers at the Hospital
Auxiliary meeting Tuesday after-
noon were Miss Dorothy Clark,
district canapaign secretary for
t he Rehabilitation Foundation,
Mrs Constance Cruikshank, Kit-
chener, rehabilitation worker and
Miss Cruikshank, also of Kit-
chener, who operated the pro-
jector.
Mrs Crujkshank spoke of the
rehabilitation work carried on
and showed pictures to illustrate
her talk. Miss Clark, who was
in a wheel chair, was formerly
of Ailsa Craig and is a niece
of Mr Francis Clark of town.
She was stricken with polio in
1922 and in 1950 she started the
rehabilitation program and after
two and a half years at Lyndhurst

and she carried a bouquet of
white roses and stephanotis.
Maid of honor was the bride's
sister Miss. Susan Scott, park-,
hill, wearing a. floor-length gold
peau de sole gown with lace top
and train falling from a bow at
the neckline. She carried a bou-
quet of bronze and gold mums-
with background of natural wheat
and maple leaves. Bridesmaids
were Miss Margaret Amos, RR
3 Ailsa Craig, and Miss Donna
Lynne Johnstone, Parkhill, gown-
ed similarly to the maid of honor
only in moss green color. All
attendants wore open pillbox
headpieces of matching peal" de
sole. The bride's sister, Cath-
erine Scott, was flower girl
dressed similarly to the other
attendants in gold with white
lace top and streamers instead
of a train.
Alan Wright, RR 3 AilsaCraig,
was best man for his brother and
John Drury and James Scott,
brother of the bride, ushered
guests.
A reception was held in the
church rooms where the bride's
mother received guests in a
champagne lace dress with three-
quarter length coat, cranberry
accessories and pink rose cor-
sage. The groom's mother chose
blue crepe with black accessories
and white rose corsage.
For travelling in Northern On-
tario the bride changed to a
plum double-knit three-piece suit
with black accessories and white
gardenia corsage.
The couple will reside at ER 3,
Ailsa Craig.

publishers' agency in Stratford
and is secretary for the March of

says "all the campaign work is

$800.31 had been realized from
Tag Day held Saturday, Sep-
tember 24 with still three places
to hear from. Mrs Taylor, Mrs
Gerald Godbolt, Mrs Elmer Bell,
Mrs V. Armstrong, and Mrs Ella
Bailey attended the district 2
meeting in Galt recently, Mrs
Godbolt was named second vice-
president.
The fall rummage sale is being
held Saturday, in the Legion Hall
with all the help possible needed.
The provincial convention is to
be held in the Royal York, Tor-
onto, October 23-26. If possible
two delegates are to attend.
It was voted to buy a new cart
for use at the hospital as the one
now in use is beyond repair. It
was also decided to discontinue
the winter card party this year.
Members were reminded the
next meeting will be the annual
one with conveners reports of
the year's work to be presented
and officers elected. Featuring one of North America's top

their golden wedding anniversary
Sunday with a family dinner at
Dufferin Hotel, Centralia, and
the visits of friends and neigh-
bours in the afternoon.
They were mar r ied at the
Crediton Methodist parsonage
October 9, 1916 which that year
was Thanksgiving Day.
They have always made their
home in Exeter and are members
of James Street United Church,
They have one daughter, Mrs.
Percy Noels, RR 1 Crediton,
and four grandchildren.

cal gowns to the matron of honor.

Mrs. Harry Strang, vice-pres-
ident of London Area WI, was
guest speaker at the Elimville
WI meeting held in the United
Church Tuesday evening October
4. She spoke on public relations.
Mrs. Harold Kerslake com-
mented on the motto "Use friend-
ship as a drawing account but
don't forget the deposits." Roll
call was answered by naming
"Your favorite ladies program on
TV." Mrs. Murray Coward gave
her report on the Officers Con-
ference in Guelph using the hand-
book. Mrs Philip Johns favored
with a piano instrumental. The
public relations and resolutions
corn mittee, Mrs. Ha.rold Ker-
slake and Mrs. Jud Dykeman
convened the program.
The business was conducted by
the president, Mrs Gilbert Johns.
Mrs. Torn Bern gave a report
of the County Rally. Mrs. Lloyd
Cooper and Miss Ruth Skinner
were named representatives to
the short course on hats October
25 and 26. Mrs E. Lynn was named
representative to the London
Area convention in Goderich Nov-
ember 1 and 2 and to look after
at least three crochet articles for
display at the convention.
It was voted that $2 be charged
for the use of Institute dishes
