wins plus eight while FrankCase
of Seaforth placed second. Mem-
bers of the Seaforth rinks were

rink of John Deeves, Cecil Pepper
and Lloyd McLean were second
draw consolation winners.

at UC banquet
At a recent banquet in Hensall
United Church Mr. Hugh Bremner
news commentator of CFPL-TV
presented pictures and commen-
tary on trips to Hong Kong, Africa
and Russia.
The banquet sponsored by the
Stewards of the Church was serv-
ed by the United Church Women.
Entertainment during the supper
hour consisted of a sing-song
led by Sam Rannie. Instrumental
music was supplied by pianist
James Traquair and Trumpet
Soloist Robert Forrest. Mr. Wil-
mer Ferguson, chairman of Com-
mittee of Stewards, acted as
MC. Mr. Robert Reaburn ex-
pressed the thanks of the men
to Mr. Bremner.
Gift presented
Co-op manager
Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Mousseau
were honored at a dinner at the
Dominion Hotel, Zurich, followed
later with a presentation, by the
staff of Hensall District Co-
Operative with twenty five attend-
ing. They were presented with
a combination telephone table
and bench.
Mr. Mousseau, manager of the
Hensall Co-operative Ltd., left
for his new position as manager
of the United Co-operatives Fer-
tilizer Plant at Thamesville Mon-
day of this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Mousseau
entertained a group of friends at
their home for Mr. and Mrs.
Mousseau, where they were made
the presentation of a large oil
painting.

At the annual merchandise trap
shoot at Hamilton over the week-
end, Bill Stewart of Goderich
won the Johnson Sea-Horse out-
board motor with 95 out of 100
handieap target.
John. Anderson of Hensall was
tied with four other shooters
with 90 out of 100 and won the
shoot off with 24 out of .25.
Anderson won a Cruisare two
piece luggage for his efforts, In
the 16 yard event Anderson tied
again with four other shooters
with 47 out of 50 and outlasted
the others to win a Philo° portable
transistor radio.
There was an entry of 131
shooters. Bill and John shoot
left handed which is rare in the
sport.
St. Paul's WA
St. Paul's WA meeting was
held in the church basement Wed-
nesday, March 16. After opening
devotions a further chapter of
the study book '"Let God Go
Free" was read by the rector,
Rev. J. P. Gandon, dealing with
worship in the church.

won by Goderich rink
A Goderich rink skipped by
Bower Farish won the Hensall
Legion Bonspiel last Saturday
by defeating 16 other area rinks.
The winning rink of Farish, Alex
Profit, Al Sumner and Ralph
Morris won all three games and
had a plus of 18 to take the
Carling Trophy.
Doug Mann's Hensall foursome
of Jack Bell, Bob Caldwell and
Bob Baker placed second to
Farish in the nine o'clock draw
while John Franklin's Centralia
rink took the consolation prize.

Mr. John Soldan has returned
home after undergoing surgery
at Clinton Public Hospital.
High prices at
local farm sale
A successful auction sale,
widely attended, was held Friday
on the farm of the late John
Faber, one and a quarter miles
south of Hensall, on Highway 4.
The 140 acre farm was pur-
chased by Bill Rowcliffe, RR 1
Hensall for the price of $52,400.
There were a number of interest-
ed bidders for the farm.
Collect bottles
for Bunny Bundle
Brenda and Bradley Lavender
collected pop and beer bottles
discarded on the highways over
the past two weekends for the
Bunny Bundle fund for crippled
children.
Their father, Mr. Jack Laven-
der, drove the car and estimates
they travelled 49 miles. They
collected 710 bottles which will
yield roughly $15 for the fund.
It is interesting to note that
travelling west from H ens all
there were more pop bottles and
on Highway 4 there were more
beer bottles.

for April meet
Amber Rebekah Lodge met
Wednesday night with the chair
taken by Noble Grand Mrs.
George Clifton. It was announced
that the official spring visit of
District Deputy President Mrs.
Edna C al d we 11 will be made
April 20.
The annual district meeting
will be held Wednesday April
13 in the Lodge Hall at 3 pm.
At the conclusion of the meet-
ing a euchre was held with nine
tables in play. The winners were
ladies, Mrs. Luella Willert, Mrs.
Jack Corbett; lone hands, Mrs.
Edna Corbett; men, Glenn Bell,
Sgt. D. Windover. A box of gro-
ceries was won by Mrs. Asa
Deeves.
