FIFTH BIRTHDAY PARTY
WISHING
ALL PRESENT & FUTURE OWNERS
A HAPPY SLEEP!
THE MATTRESS THAT WENT HOME
AND STAYED IN BED
Five years ago we introduced the perfect mattress, a new concept in sleeping com-
fort for homes.
We do not claim to have invented this product. It was long on the market, produced
for hospitals and hotels, where sleeping comfort and durability is of prime importance.
Thus impressed with the sturdy mattress we made arrangements with the manufac-
turer to produce it to our specifications. These were modified to introduce some special
features which the 'commercial product did not possess.
Later the mattress received its name and now is known as Sauble Queen, a name as-
sociated with quality, durability — and happy sleep.
Since individuals differ in their sleep habits, their physical build-up — and let's face
it — in their pocketbooks as well, we redesigned the line into five different mattress-
es. Each of them features quality that raises them above all others in similar price
field.
Yet to the uninitiated a word of caution. While we believe in quality and the best of
materials, we have been forced to avoid the luxury packaging that 'is used to attract the
eye of the buyer.
For one thing luxury materials are incompatible with long wear and, sometimes, with
healthy sleep. Secondly, we believe, that a mattress is something to sleep on rather
than to look at and therefore our efforts have gone inside to insure that you get the
happy sleep which Sauble Queen can promise to provide.
Because different parts of the mattress take a different type of load, we asked for
and got nine different variations of spring for nine different parts of the bed.
There's a corner spring as a strong anchor. There's end springs that hold their place.
And edge springs to fight people who sit on edges of beds. There's shoulder to knee
springs for support of the heaviest part of the body. And so on. They're 'all demon-
strated in a miniature model you can see at Hopper-Hockey.
We're very proud of the spring structure that goes into the SAUBLE QUEEN. You
know, it takes 40 minutes to custom assemble each spring unit — to just piece the
springs together. These springs have been put through 1,540,000 compressions and
still going strong.
We suggest when you come in, that you do more than jab at our mattresses with your
fists. Take your coat off, kick off the shoes and lie down for five minutes. This is the
only sensible way to gauge how a mattress will perform at home.
We also suggest that you do not put a new mattress on an old box spring. Box springs
last no longer than mattresses. They are made far each other. That's because the
box spring takes on 40% of your weight. It's a sure way to ruin a new mattress, by
putting it on a worn out and mismatched box spring.
And after you've bought your SAUBLE QUEEN, take good care of it. Turn the new
mattress end-to end and upside down every two weeks for the first four months or so,
to let it adjust evenly and smoothly to your body weight. Turn it four times a year
after that, to give uniform weight to each side. Turn the box spring end-for-end oc-
casionally for maximum wear. Never bend or fold a mattress. And never, never use
it 'as a chair or stand on it.

This mattress we are very proud of. ft features that
Karr spring we were discussing earlier. It gives a most
restful n ight, particularly when husband and wife are
greatly different in weight. The spring construction pre-
vents roll-together by distributing disproportionate body
weights for an even support. There's a 260 coil count.
And for an extra bonus, there's a foam topping to give
surface softness not found in common mattresses.

tufting. Then most unusual, India white felt quilted right

tress and you can feel the Incredible softness of this
Indian felt, the highest quality felt at any price.

Our therapeutic spring with greater coil count for a much
firmer sleep. We do not believe that coil count Is the
main concern in evaluating a spring mattress. Canadian
Homes Magazine brought this point out last September
in a thorough-going article on mattresses. (We have a
copy for your Interest). But many people do prefer a
firmer support beneath them than others. For these peo•
pie we offer the SAUBLE QUEEN FIRM with Its higher
Bonne!' spring coil count and costlier construction.
