Dashwood WI met Tuesday,
Jan, 4, with the Historical Re-
search and Current Events group
in charge and Mrs. Irvin Rader

The roll. call "Bring antique
to stump the ladies" proved most
interesting and it is surprising
the strange antiques some pos-
sess.
Mrs, Harold Kellermen dis-
cussed the motto "A man has
attained a true conception of life
when he plants a tree under which
he will never sit."
Mrs. Glen Webb took as her
topic, "Huron County History".
Current events were discussed by
Mrs. Charles Snell. Mrs. Irvin
Rader gave a reading and read
material for the Tweedsmeir
History book,
Mrs. Glen Webb, vice presi-
dent dealt with the business. 4-H
achievement day will be January
15 in South Huron District High
School. The District annual will
be in Dashwood community cen-
tre May 19.
It was decided to hold euchre
parties, the first being Jenuary
25. A letter was read from the
provincial president.
The UCW met In the school-
room of the church Thursday
evening when Rev. D, M. Guest
nresideti for the devotional part
of the meeting. lie read the execu-
tive list and led in a dedication
prayer.
The meeting was turned over
to the co-presidents Mrs. Ross
McFalls and Mrs. Charles Role
lines. A film entitled "The Har-
vest" was shown With Mrs. Frank
Hicks in charge of the projector,
Mrs, Ross McFalls conducted
the business part of the meeting.
Members paid their fees in ans,
wer to the roll call. Annual re-
ports were given. A poem "Don't
Quit" was read by Mrs, Ross
IvIeFalls.
The World Day of Prayer sere
vice will be held in the church
Friday afternoon, February 25
at 2 o'clock when all the ladieS
of the congregation are invited
to attend and bring a friend.

'76 percent on the first set of
exams in her training course at
the Ontario Hospital, London.
Ann is now wearing her cap and
is deeply interested in her work.

visited for a couple of days last

the WMS for the January meet-
ing which was held in the Sunday
School room of the church. Mrs.
T. L. Scott presided and com-
mented briefly on the new study
book.
Mrs. Calder McKaig intro-
duced the study "Missions — the
Christians Calling", and was as-
sisted by Mrs. Gerald Carey,

conducted by the president, Mrs.
M. Lamond, the group was re-
minded of the annual meeting of
the Stratford presbyterial to be
held in Knox Church, Stratford,
Wednesday, when Mrs. Burnham,
Synodical president, will be the
special speaker. She also read a
letter from Mrs, Kipher, Pres-
byterial supply secretary, re-
garding arrangement of supplies
for the year.

message. Current events were
given by each member.

ALVIN KELLERMAN
Alvin Kellerman, 55, passed
away at his late residence, Dash-
wood, Wednesday, Jan. 5 suddenly
as a result of a heart attack.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Myrtle Beaver, one
daughter, Mona (Mrs. Gerald
Maier) of London, one son, Cal-
vin, at home, also one grand-
daughter.
Employed at Dashwood Planing
Mills Ltd. he had worked that
day.
The body rested at the T.
Harry Hoffman funeral home until
Saturday, Jan. 8 when the service
was conducted by Rev. Merrill
James with interment in Dash-
wood HUB cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andrew
Diepstraten, Bill Masse, Ed and
Harold Stire, Leo Gibson and
Cliff Salmon.
