Many of the WI ladies have been
interested in Expo 67 since hear-
ing an address by IVIrs. L, J.Stu-
art, co-ordinator of Women's
Associations at Exo 67 at the
London area WI convention in
Stratford in November.
A recent release from Expo 67
in review of the past year in
women's activities reads:
,'Women were in the pews at
Expo 67 during the past year.
There were many women visi-
tors, including Madame Georges
Vanier, wife of Canada's Gov-
ernor General.
Two of the visitors came from
Brussels and both came to give
Expo their advice. There were
Mme. Rene Mot, chief hostess at
the 1958 Brussels Exhibition, and
Mme Josine des Cressonniere,
manager of the design centre in
Brussels.
Within Expo 67 women occupy
positions ranging from secretar-
ies to architects. Two women,
Marie Choquet and Olga Maxwell
were assigned important roles as

Red and white poinsettias, sil-

delabra formed the setting in
James Street United Church when
Bonnie Adele Turvey, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Turvey,
Andrew St., Exeter, exchanged
marriage vows with Robert A.
Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs.
V. L. Becker, Dashwood, on
Thursday, December 30 at 6 pm.
Rev. S, E. Lewis officiated for
the candelight ceremony and Miss
Carol Brown, Seaforth, played
the wedding music and accom-
panied the soloist Miss Linda
Wainer, Exeter, who sang 0 Per-
feet Love and Walk Beside
You.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther the bride wore a floor-
length gown of peau de sole de-
signed in Empire style withman-
tle train. Her floor-length veil
fell from a cap of peau de sole
and she carried a spray of red
poinsettias and holly.
Maid of honor was Miss Helen
Hendrick, Exeter, and brides-
maids were Miss Iris Becker,
Dashwood, Miss Gail Farquhar,
Exeter and Miss Lynn Stuart,
Chatham. They were gowned alike
in wine velvet in empire style
in floor-length with matching
headbands. They carried sprays
of white poinsettias and holly.
Flower girl, Laurie Becker, wore
white silk with tulle overskirt

turkey treat
While roast turkey has become
a holiday tradition, so has the
problem of what to do with left-
overs.
A perfect hot dish for those
cold wintry days when the family
comes home hungry is a sandwich
loaf.
GOURMET SANDWICH LOAF
4 hard-cooked eggs
1 cup finely chopped cooked turkey
1/4 cup chopped sweet pickles
Or pickle relish
1 can (10 to 12 oz.) cream of
mushroom soup
salt and pepper
12 slices of bread
2 tbl softened butter
1/4 cup milk
Chop 2 of the eggs. Combine
turkey, pickles, and half of the
soup. Season to taste with salt and
pepper, Trim crusts from bread
and cut slices in half to make 24
pieces, Place 6 pieces of bread
close together on baking sheet or
heat-proof serving platter.
Spread with turkey mixture. Top
with layer of bread. Repeat until
there are 3 layers of turkey and
4 layers of bread. Brush top with
softened butter.
Bake in a moderate oven (375
degrees) until lightly browned,
15 minutes. Blend milk with re-
maining soup. Heat to boiling.
Add remaining chopped eggs.
Serve over 6 sandwiches.

For travelling to Ottawa and
Eastern States the bride donned
a walking suit of jade green wool
with sable collar, matching vel-
vet hat, brown accessories and
bronze orchid dorsage.
The couple will reside in Lon-
don where the bride is a second
year UWO student and the groom
is completing an accountant's
course at Wells Academy.
Out of town guests were from
Chatham London, Kitchener,
Wingham, Brussels and Blyth.

Mr. Alfred Williams of the
SHDHS Staff was guest speaker
Monday evening at the meeting
of James Street UCW units 3
and 4. He told of his native
land, Trinidad, noting that it was
a lovely small island with a pop-
ulation of three-quarters of a
million of European, Negro and
mixed races.
He spoke of the government,
educational system, climate and
natural resources of the land and
mentioned that there was a no-
ticeable American influence and
also a strong Christian heritage.
The island gained its indepen-
dence from Britain four years
ago.
The speaker was introduced by
Mrs. Gerald Godbolt and thanked
by Mrs. William Thomson.
Previously the units had met
separately and conducted the
business. Mrs. Winston ShaptOri
presided for unit 3 and Mrs.
Carfrey Cann was assisted by
Mrs. Glenn Fisher, Mrs. John
Schroeder and Mrs. B. Skinner
in the worship period.

Glencoe United Church was the
setting for the marriage of Mar-
garet Blanche Cross, Glencoe and
Ray Arthur Duboyce, St. Agathe,
Quebec. Rev. James Cross, fa-
ther of the bride, officiated for the
double-ring ceremony assisted
by Rev. Turner of Wardsville.
The bride is the daughter of
Rev. & Mrs. James Cross, Glen-
coe and the groom is the son of
Mr, and Mrs. Duboyce of Dorval
Quebec.
The bride given in marriage by
her brother David Cross of Ex-
eter, chose a floor length gown of
peau de sole with a fitted bodice,
3/4 length sleeves, shallow scoop
neckline, lace at the waist with a
bow at the back. The front was
fitted and the back was gathered
ending in a train. A crown of
pearls and rhinestones held her
shoulder-length silk veil and she
carried a bouquet of red roses,
white mums, in green pine.
Mrs. David Cross, Exeter, sis-
ter-in-law of the bride, was ma-
tron of honor. Miss Erma Stultz,
Wolfville, Nova Scotia cousin of
the bride, and Miss Karen Ponath,
London, were bridesmaids. They
wore identical dresses of sea
green, semi-fitted with a
