Strathroy 4-1 in Strathroy on
Monday night. The bantams, how-
ever, lost their Shamrock League
game by a 7-3 score.
Dale Parkin scored to give
Exeter a 1-0 first period lead
and Strathroy came back to tie
the game at 1-1 in the second
frame but the locals came back
with three unanswered markers
in the third period to pull away
for the win.
Robbie Lindenfield gave the
locals a 2-1 lead early in the
last period and a pair of goals
by Larry Davies put the game
out of the reach of the battling
Strathroy crew.
Jim Brown who played a steady
game throughout in the Exeter
net was particularly sharp in the
third period when he stopped a
Strathroy penalty shot.
In the bantam contest the Ex-
eter club blew a 3-1 first period
lead to lose their second game
of the year by a 7-3 score.
Don Farrell's two first per-
iod goals gave Exeter a quick
2-0 lead but they were unable to
hold on as the powerful Strath-
roy team picked up six goals in
the last two frames. Randy Par-
sons scored the third Exeter goal
early in the second frame.
Squirts
The Exeter Squirts whipped
Dorchester 8-3 last Saturday in
Lucan to bring their season rec-
ord to three wins, two losses and
a tie in their Shamrock League
action. The last time Exeter
played Dorchester the two clubs
played to a 2-2 tie but it was
different on Saturday as scoring
leader Perry Stover led the locals
to their convincing victory.
The locals started slowly by
taking a 2-1 first period lead on
goals by Paul Robinson and Perry
Stover but broke out for four
goals in the second stanza to lead
6-2. Stover added two markers
in the second period and Steve
Schroeder and Terry Janke pick-
ed up the other two Exeter goals.
Schroeder's goal which turned out
to be the winner was set up by
John Vriese and Steve Harrison.
Schroeder picked up his second
goal of the game on an unassisted
effort in the final frame while
Stover added his fourth late in
the third period with John Court-
ney and Van Tuckey drawing
assists on the play.
