chener are entered in the triple

become an annual affair, bring-
ing together the rinks of the area
in a uget acquainted" spiel.
Considerable effort was ex-
pended getting the ice into shape,
with the mild, damp weather
playing havoc with the ice sur-
face.

PANTHERS
— Continued from page 6
The remainder of the game
was played around mid-field as
neither team made more than a
single first down. The final score
was South Huron 27, St. Marys 6.
In the junior game the South
Huron blew their single point
lead and allowed Listowel to tie
the game with a single. Coach
Mickle's crew had a big margin
on the statistical board picking
up 16 first downs compared to
the opposition's 6. Once again
Jim Hayter held the South Huron
squad together on both offense
and defence. He was the work-
horse on offense with 25 rushes
for 155 yards. Tim Ockenden
chalked up 50 yards and end
Terry Quinn caught two passes
for 40 yards.
South Huron's single came in
the third quarter. The junior
panthers started on their own
18. Hayter made a first down on
19 yards gallop and Ockenden
and Kevin MacKinnon combined
for another one. Hayter picked
up one more before he kicked
a single from the 30 yard line.
Listowel tied the game in the
final quarter with a 29 yard
single by Sanders after a Panther
punt return man had fumbled.
A combined choir of men from
Grand Bend & Greenway United
Churches sang in both churches
Sunday morning.
