New Canadians entertain seniors New Canadians entertained at the Senior Citizens Club meeting Tuesday evening in the Exeter Legion Hall with about 100 in attendance. Mrs. Bruce Cann chaired the program and Rev. A. J. Stien- stra gave an address. A sketch was presented by John Bruls and Gerben Wynja and a skit by kngus and Albert Hummel. Other numbers included duets by H. Klungel and Mrs. P. Visscher, also Mrs. Wm. Van Amerongen and Mrs. G. Wynja; solo by Mrs. P. Schelhaas; poems by Mrs. H. Klungel and Mrs. Muller; banjo solos by Mrs. Vanden Wynja and a quar- tet by Mr. and Mrs. Visscher, Mrs. Klungel and Mrs. Cann. A singsong was led by Cecil Skinner with Mrs. Frank King at the piano. The next meeting will be in the form of a picnic July 6 in Riverview Park with potluck supper at 6 pm. PERSONALS Miss Arlene Desjardine and Peggy Hall of London visited with their parents over the weekend. The Mt. Carmel music pupils joined with the Parkhill music pupils in the Parkhill Town Hall last Sunday afternoon, the occasion being their annual mu- sic festival. Twenty-one stu- dents took part, their teacher being Miss Jane Moons. Mr. Milford McIseac of De- troit spent a few days last week with his mother, Mrs. Peter Melsaac of Dashwood. Mrs. Harry Van Oesh re- turned home last Saturday from a London hospital much im- proved. Mr. & Mrs. Peter Frayne and family visited over the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. John Morrissey and family. RECEPTION AND DANCE re Exeter Police Chief C, H. MacKetzie advised that bicycle permite expired Monday and this year's are now on sale at the police office. The permits are mandatory and cost only 50e. The police also check all bicycles to make certain they are in a safe con- dition when permits are re- ceived. Chief MecKenzie said the permits "have paid off" many times in recovering stolen or misplaced bicycles. He said the bylaw Would be strictly enforced by his de- partment.
