Hardest hit are the Kent and Essex areas where losses reached 46 percent. From more distant points comes news of a 63 percent loss in Renfrew and 56 percent in Northumberland, Winter loss last year was only 5,2 percent. ALFRED OVENS TOM ELLERINGTON . . . . Award winning graduates pecially to the north-east of Exeter, but reported it would take some time to determine just how serious the damage would be. The weekly crop report con- cluded with the report that pas- ture and hay fields are making good growth despite some frost damage and most cattle are now out to pasture. Farmers received some bad news this week when officials of the Ontario Wheat Producers' Marketing Board revealed that Ontario farmers have ex- perienced one of the worst wint- er kills of wheat on record with an estimated 26.4 percent of the 1965 crop lost. Doug Miles, Huron's Agri- cultural Representative, re- ports this week that planting Conditions "vary considerably" throughout the county. "Some have finished with grain and corn, while others have just nicely started," he stated, Reason for the variance is due to storms with hail and fre, Vent heavy rains in a spas- modic pattern. Miles was in the South Huron area Monday inspecting fields for possible damage caused by Sunday's hail storm which hit some sections. He indicated there definitely was damage in some areas, es- ‘//44,111100i11111 SEED BEANS We offer the following 41E. • I I P 7 lit i 1- ALL VARIETIES available with high germination Ill CONTRACTS — Seed a n d Fertilizer supplied CUSTOM TREATING — For wireworm 4 control * EPTAM — Effective spray for weed ***4%.. control THIMET — For bean beetle control (by order only) C ..
