Last Tuesday evening the
I United Church and the Pente-
costal Church held a united
service in the former church
with the Rev. Gordon H.
Merkley of Granton, as the
guest speaker. The jr. choir
(trained by the pastor) sang
particularly well as they led
in the music. The CGIT and
111-C members sat in abody,
but as there were so many
Explorers in the choir they
could not sit in a body.
Before giving his Easter
message to the adults, Mr.
Merkley gave an inspiring
talk to the young people, lik-
ening the anticipation of
heaven to that of going to a
fair.
The pastor Rev. G. W.
Sach had charge of the ser-
vice. He was assisted by
Rev. John Sexton, who led in
prayer.
Wednesday evening at the
Anglican Church, Rev. E.
0. Lancaster led in the regu-
lar evening service and lit-
any. There was no sermon.
At the Pentecostal Holiness
Church, the pastor Rev. John
Sexton was the speaker for
the united service, with the
Rev. G. W. Sach assisting.
Mr. Paul Graham sang the
solo "How Great Thou Art".
For Good Friday in the
Anglican Church the special
service based on the Seven
Last Words on the Cross,
was held. In the United
Church it was a communion
service and the reception
for the following new memb-
ers, Mr. and Mrs. Ian Dallas
formerly of St. Thomas, Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Taylor, Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Jones,
Miss Loraine Little, all of
London, and Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Anson from Kings-
ville.
Miss Ilene Donaldsoe,
sang "Hymn of the Last
Supper".
