tory Christmas service in the
Masonic Temple. The speaker

Divisional Commander of the
Salvation Army for Western
Ontario.
The annual Sunday School
Christmas entertainment will
be held in the schoolroom of
the church Saturday at 8 pm.
There will be two services
in the church Sunday, Dec. 20.
The pastor, Rev. Guest will
deliver his Christmas mes-
sage in the morning and there
will be special music by the
choir. In the evening there will
be a girls' choir. Carols will
be sung and a film will be
shown.
Special events
held at Brinsley
Sunday St. Mary's Anglican
Church, Brinsley, was decorat-
ed for the Christmas season,
and a service of Christmas car-
ols and hymns was held. Scrip-
ture passages were read by
Ruth White, Sharon Faulder,
Norma Rowe and Judy Morgan.
White Gifts were brought by
the Sunday School for the In-
dian children on Moraviantown
Reserve.
Mrs. Harvey Hodgins played
the new Hammond organ.
Friday, December 18, the
Sunday School will hold their
Christmas party in the church
basement at 8:30.
Christmas communion ser-
vice will be held at 11:30 am
Sunday, December 20. Carols
will be sung in the church at
8:30 on Christmas Eve,

Mrs. Jack Urquhart was hos-
tess for the UCW Christmas
meeting Wednesday afternoon
December 9 when a Christmas
program was presented with
Mrs. T. Elliott as leader.
Mrs. H. Burgin, Mrs. E.
Urquhart and Mrs. C. Mills
contributed readings. Mrs.
Norman Amos read a Christ-
mas story, and Mrs. Earl Wat-
son favored with a piano in-
strumental. Mrs. L. Marshall
and Mrs. D. Johnson assisted
with the devotional period.
It was decided to remember
the shut-ins at Christmas with
a book or box of fruit. Fifty
dollars was donated to the Board
of Stewards.

Friday evening, December
11, the Messengers entertain-
ed their mothers in the church
basement.
Numbers on the program in-
cluded a reading by David Ro-
binson, a dance by Jo-Anne
Scott, piano solos by Wendy
Heard and Bryan Amos, an ex-
ercise, ,,The Christmas Let-
ters" and readings concerning
Christmas in other lands. The
Christmas story was given in
pantomine.
Each of the leaders were
presented with a gift.
Exeter Cubs to
sing next week
Again this year, the 1st Exe-
ter Cub Pack are collecting
toys for the children in the
area to help make their Christ-
mas a little brighter.
Cubmaster Harold Sissons
reported the toys would be dis-
tributed by the local Legion.
On Wednesday night, the Cubs
will be going carol singing to
various locations in town and
one place they will be at, will
be in front of the library at
8:00 p.m.
The lads invite one and all
to come and hear them and
also to join them in singing
the favorite Christmas songs.

Miss Wilma Dinnin, who re-
cently resigned as secretary
of the Grand Bend and Area
Chamber of Commerce, left
the resort this week to assume
a position as editor of the St,
Clair Gazette.
The head office of the weekly
newspaper is in Courtwright
and it covers the communities
of Frooinfield, Coranna, Court-
wright, Sombre. and Brigden,
as Well as the townships of
Sarnia, Moore and Sombra.
Miss Ditinin has had several
years experience in the weekly
newspaper field. She was editor
of the Clinton News-Record for
abont 10 years and this past
summer edited the Grand Bend
Holiday, a saintlier publication
at the resort.
The St. Clair paper is aSso-
elated with the Sarnia Gazette
and in the area which it serves,
Ontario Hydro plana to erect a
$200 million p0Wer Station. It
Will alSb be in that area where
CIL will establish a mammoth
indilstrial site.
