Secret ballot which was held
after brisk campaigning by the
candidates. Principal A r API
Mathers said the voting was
extremely close in all three
categories.
None of the atudents made any
rash promises as to how he
would run things if elected, as
most dealt mainly with an intro-
duction of themselves to the
student body.
One of the candidates, Terri
Paul, Kirkton, sang her cam-
paign. Others had slogans and
colorful posters in an effort
to enlist support.
The student council will as-
sist with the planning and or-
ganization of various sporting

No more walking to school for these kids
Another of the benefits being enjoyed at the new school is the fact that buses pick the kids up at
their laneway and deposit them there when school is finished. The real value of the transportation
will probably become even more evident when those winter winds start to blow and the snow makes
walking difficult. Principal Arnold Mathers, right, watches the children arrive at the school and
with her back to the camera is Miss Marilyn Marshall, one of the teachers. Harry Her ii is the bus
driver shown walking toward the children. —T-A photo
