day, July 1 with open house for
friends and relatives afternoon

Dominion Day 1914 With a rnar-
riage ceremony at Thames Road
manse, Their attendants were
the groorrete brother Sam and
IMss Clara JaPebe, both of
Exeter. They were married at
Christmas the same year. They
live at Milford, Mich. and were
present for the celebration.
The celebrants have a family
of three daughters and one son:
Mrs. Eldon (Elva)Heywood, and
Mrs. Verne (Lila) Smith, both of
Exeter; Mrs. Elmer (Geneva)
Rowe, RR 1 Exeter, and Harold
Elliott, lien.sall. They have 19
gra,ndchiedren and two great
grandchildren.
The family preseeted their
parents with a chrome kitchen
suite and they received many
flowers, cards and other gifts.
At the open house the daugh-
ters poured tea and the grand-
daughters served.
Attending the occasion from
a distance were Mrs. Eldred
Elliott, her son and his wife,
Mr. and Mrs. Torn Elliott, and
a son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Redmond, all of
Marlette, Mich. and Mr. and
Mrs. Herman Elliott and son
Bruce of Sarnia.
HAM-POTATO ROLLS
1 envelope (3 oz) instant mash,
ed potatoes prepared accord,
ing tp peckage directions.
1/4 tp thyme
4 slices cheese
4 slices cooked ham
Combine mashed potatoes and
thyme. Place one slice of ceeese
on each slice of ham. Spoon
about 1/2 cup of potatoes on top
of each cheese slice. Roll ham
over potatoes and cheese and
place seameside down in baking
dish. Pour onion sauce over all
and bake in moderate (375 de-
gree) oven for 15 minutes.

ONION SAUCE
1 medium onion sliced
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 chicken bouillon cube
2 tbl melted butter
1 thl flour
1 cup milk
Saute onion, green pepper and
bouillon cube in butter until
onion is tender and bouillon cube
is dissolved. Blend in flour, Stir
in milk and cook over low heat
until thickened.

parlors Saturday, July 4 at 3:30
pm. Mrs. Frank Wildfong, Exe-
ter, furnished the wedding mu-
sic.
Given in marriage by her
father the bride was gowned in
a street-length dress of white
nylon peau de sole styled with
fitted bodice, scoop neckline,
elbow-length sleeves and bell-
shaped skirt. Her shoulder-
length veil was held by abeaded
tiara and she carried a cascade
of red roses, white mums and
trailing ivy.
Maid of honor for her sister
was Miss Judy Young wearing
a blue lace dress appliqued in
white with blue organza over-
skirt, cap sleeves and scoop
neckline. Her crescent bouquet
was of white carnations edged
in blue.
Jim Jones, Exeter, was best
man for his brother.
A reception was held in the
Legion rooms where the bride's

the mothers along with their
teacher, Mrs. Morrison, of the
Base Line School enjoyed a bus
trip to Niagara Falls and dis-
trict Tuesday of last week.
They visited many places of
interest and left for home after
the viewing of the illumination
of the Falls arriving home at
2 am after a very enjoyable
trip.
Friday afternoon Mrs. Mor-
rison entertained the mothers
and pupils to a picnic at the
school.

with yellow mums, ivy and fern.
Miss Bonnie J. MacGregor,
RR 8 Parkhill, was maid of
honor and Miss Bonnie McLeod,
RR 2 Parkhill, and Mrs. Lloyd
Mawson, RR 8 Parkhill, were
bridesmaids. They were gowned
alike in yellow sheer nylon
over rayon taffeta with cotton
lace jackets trimmed with rayon
satin. They carried American
Beauty roses, pink mums and
fern.
Donald Robert Lewis was best
man and Allan Lewis and Lloyd
Mawson ushered.
A reception Was held in Cor-
bett Community Centre where
the bride's mother received
guests in a three piece suit of
light blue and white linen and
white mum corsage. The
groom's mother chose a pale
pink linen dress with jacket
and white mutt corsage,
For travelling in northern
Ontario the bride changed to a
three piece black and white linen
suit with white accessories and
corsage of pink carnations.
