proaching golden wedding anni-
versary.
A sports program was en-
joyed by both children and adults
under the direction of a sports
committee. A smorgasbord
lunch was enjoyed by everyone
on the lawn.
Guests were present from
Pittsburgh, Detroit, St. Cath-
arines, Port Dalhousie, Hamil-
ton, Cooksville, Kingston, Lon-
don, Mitchell, Seaforth, Goder-
ich, Exeter and Hensall.

dies in Clinton
Mrs, Margaret Vair, 80, of
Brucefield passed away Sunday
at Clinton Public Hospital, She
was the former Margaret Bon-
thro n.
Surviving are sisters: Mrs.
Edith MacMartin, London, Mrs.
Louise Simpson, Hensall and
one brother, Fred G. Bonthron,
Hensall.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday at 2 pm at the Bonthron
funeral home with burial in
Baird's cemetery, Stanley

The summer playground
opened very successfully Mon-
day morning with a large turnout
of over 80 children for Play Day.
A variety of games and contests
were held.
The first week of the play-
ground will conclude with a
"hobo" parade featuring ho-
boes, gypsies and a variety of
other costumes. The parade will
go down the main street of Hen-
sail at 10 am Friday morning.
Following this at 1:30 the chil-
dren will go to Seaforth for
swimming. Would any person

Next week's events will in-
clude a field day Thursday fol-
lowed by a pet show Friday.
Recreation director is Eric

Mrs. McFarlane, widow of the
late John McFarlane, is surviv-
ed by sons Malcolm, Hemet,

McLaren, Hensall; Mrs. Wm.
Spear, Highgate.
Mrs. McFarlane died at the
Queensway Nursing Home, Hen-
sail, Tuesday.

55 years wed
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Forrest,
residents of Hensall, celebrated
their 55th wedding anniversary
on June 30 at a family dinner
at the home of their son-in-law
and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
James M. Scott of Seaforth.
They have three other child-
ren, Edison and Ross, both of
the Hensall district and Mildred
RN on the staff of Brantford
General Hospital. There are 10
grandchildren, and one great
grandson.
