father the bride wore a formal
gown of white silk faille featur-
ing scoop neckline trimmed with
tiny seed pearls, elbow-length
sleeves, fitted bodice extended
with Swiss guipure lace, bell
skirt with detachable full over-
skirt sweeping to a cathedral
train. A double crown of guipure
lace and seed pearls held her
bouffant veil. -
The bridal attendants, Mrs.
Mary Freeman, Clinton, Mrs.
Janet Webster, Waterloo and
Miss Mary McCauley, Clinton,
wereg owned alike in powder
blue lace over taffeta with high
necklines, short sleeves, con-
trolled skirts and large bows
with flowing streamers at back
waist. Their headpieces were
made of petals and rosebuds
trimmed with pearls and bouf-
fant veils. Flower girl was
Sharon Williams.
Eugene Kirk, London, was
best man and Eric Campbell,
Hensall, and Dwight Williams,
Clinton ushered.
A reception was held at Elm
Haven, Clinton, after which the
newly weds left on a trip to the
United States. The bride travel-
led in a navy suit with navy and
white accessories.
The couple will reside in
Clinton.

The high winds and blowing
snow that marked the night of
St, Patrick's day were no ob-
stacle for The First Exeter
Air Ranger Flight, Girl Guides
of Canada, and their guests when
they met in the Scout Hall for
the impressive candlelight
ceremony that enrolled the new
members into the Flight.
Those enrolled were Lynda
Jory, Shirley Snider and Phyllis
Madge, all of Exeter, and Mar-
cia Little, Hensall. A group
of Exeter Girl Guides formed
the color party and guests of
honour were District Guide
Commissioner, Elizabeth Mc-
Tavish, Guide Captain Mrs. B.
D. Sturrock, Mrs. R. W. Reece
instructor of the Red Cross
home nursing course recently
completed by the Rangers, and
the mothers of the flight mern-
bers.
Under command of its presi-
dent, Shirley Genttner , the flight
formed up for parade before the
reviewing party consisting of
Miss McTavish, Mrs. Sturrock,
Mrs. Read and Mrs. J. M.
Gibson, flight captain. M r s.
Gibson gave the challenge to
each new member, Miss Mc-
Tavish awarded the ranger pins,
then each girl was welcomed
into rangering by all the re-
viewing party and the rest of
the flight.
Following the enrolment
ceremony, Mrs. Read presented
the Red Cross home nursi ng
pins and certificates to all the
Rangers then presented first
aid certificates, earned last
year, to Carolynne Simmons,
Shirley Genttner, Lana Keller,
Marion Bentley, Sandra Hunter
and Judy Snider.

mer resident here, and bride-
elect of March 30, was honored
with a miscellaneous shower in
the UC schoolroom Saturday
evening.
Mrs. Rupert Williams pre-
sided for a short program which
included an accordion solo by
Miss Barbara Zuball, areading
by Mrs. Keith Simpson and a
contest.
Miss Hall was invited to a
decorated chair under white
bells and white balls. Mrs. Jim
McComb read an address and
the guest of honor was present-
ed with a coffee table, end table
and bowl of waxed fruit from
friends in the community; a
white colonial bedspread and
pair of boudoir lamps from the
ladies of St. Peter's RC church
as well as many miscellaneous
gifts.

the gifts. The bride-elect in-
