We are presently writing our
first set of examinations. These
exams started yesterday and
end Wednesday.
There is a great deal of study-
ing required if one wants to pass
his exams. A few students still
don't realize this and start the
night before, with the result that
they fail or just barely pass,
However most of the students
start to study at least a week
before the exams.
I asked several students whe-
ther we should have exams and
they had these opinions.
through the whole school year
without studying, You really
learn what you have been taught
in school by studying',
JIM COATES (12A) - No, I
don't. There is too much stncly-
ing to do and the teachers try to
cram everything in two weeks
before the exams. Then you have
a lot of homework to do and yet
you are also supposed to study.
NANCY WILLERT(10E)-Yes,
because if we didn't have exams
the students wouldn't study or do
their school work. The teachers
determine our ability by our
exams. SUSAN DINNEY (12A) - I
think exams are necessary to
test our knowledge. However
there is too much pressure put
on the students by the teachers
before the exams. This pres-
sure which consists of home-
work assignments is unfair so
close to the exams. This nightly
homework leaves us little time
to study.
DONNA KIPPER (10A) -If we
didn't have exams we would go
GARY GEOFFREY (9E)-Yes,
exams are needed to testpeople
on what they know. If we didn't
have exams probably no one
would write notes or pay atten-
tion in class.
