gregational Circle held in the
church rooms Mrs. Gerald
Northcott entertained members
and guests with a demonstration
of floral arrangements suited to
a variety of purposes.
Entertainment was completed
by a presentation by Mrs. Wil-
liam Sillery of a question game
involving fitting the right coat
of arms to the province.
Devotional period was con-
ducted by Mrs. John Boyne. In
keeping with the theme Mrs.
Beatrice Hess, Zurich, enter-
tained with two solos accom-
panied by her daughter, Mrs.
E 1dr id Simmons. President
Mrs. Art Whilsmith was in the
chair.
Refreshments in the Thanks-
giving theme were served by
Mrs. Andrew Johnston, Mrs.
Jack Pryde and Mrs. Harry
Strang.

Thanksgiving was the theme
of the meeting of UCW unit 3 in
James St, UC last Monday night
when the devotional was taken
by Mrs. Carfrey Cann assisted
by Mrs. Reg McDonald and Mrs,
Stan Frayne.
Mrs. George Vriese contri-
buted a solo and Mrs. Robert
Southcott, a Thanksgiving story.
Mrs. William Thomson presen-
ted the study " Man before God."
Final plans were made for the
smorgasbord supper October
23. Mrs. S. B. Taylor, Mrs.
Vriese and Mrs. Thomson were
appointed a nominating commit-
tee to name officers for next
year.

young people were married in
James Street United Church on
Saturday, October 12 at 3 pm
when Sandra Elaine Walper be-
came the br id e of William
George Pollen. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nor-
man Walper, Sanders St., and
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Pollen,
Huron St., are parents of the
groom.
In a setting of gold pompoms,
bronze mums, ferns and cande-
labra Rev. J, Arnold Foster,
Scarborough, performed the
ceremony assisted by Rev. S.
Ernest Lewis. Organist Law-
rence Wein accompanied the
soloist, Miss Sandi Morrow,
London, who sang The Lord's
Prayer, Still as the Night and
the Wedding Hymn.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-
length gown of white French
peau de sole. The bodice was

and the Sunday School choir sang
"Jehovah Bless Thee from
Above" led by Mrs. Fred Eringa
and Mrs. R. Dykstra and her
daughter Margaret, Kirkton,
sang The Lord's Prayer in
Dutch with Henry Amsinga at
the organ.
The bride wore a floor length
dress of nylon sheer over taf-
feta. The bell-shaped skirt was
fashioned with a full back ex-.
tending to a chapel train from
a bow at the waist. The fitted
bodice was styled with sheer
lily point sleeves and a low
scalloped neckline. A single row
of lace and beads extended down
the front giving a panel effect.
She wore a necklace of silver
leaves encrusted with pearls
and matching earrings. A crown
of pearls and crystal beads held
her finger-tip veil of French
illusion trimmed with lace. She
carried a cascade of pinkSweet-
heart roses and ivy.

LUNCHEON MEETING
The ladies of Main Street
UCW held their general meeting
in the form of a noon luncheon.

ing which followed. using the
Thanksgiving theme, Mrs. D.
McLeod was guest soloist with
Mrs. Frank Wildfong at the
piano. Mrs. Bo Tuckey led in
the devotional.
President Mrs. E. Russell
was in the chair and plans were
discussed for the bazaar to be
held November 23 in the church
rooms. The various booths are
to be baking, aprons, handwork,
candy, and a white elephant, also
a tea room.

At the meeting of Trivia
Memorial WA the Dorcas com-
mittee reported that a bale of
clothing had been sent to the
Mohawk Institute, Brantford.
