SOUTH LINE PICNIC
The Elimville South Line held
its picnic on Sunday August 25
at Port Franks. The table com-
mittee Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. John
Miners were in charge. A ball
game was enjoyed in the after-
noon after swimming.
The committee for next year
are Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Ja-
ques, Mr, and Mrs. Cleve Pull-
man and the picnic will be held

4-H GIRLS ARE WI GUESTS
The Kirkton 4-H Club girls
were guests at the WI meeting
held in Aberdeen Hall.
Miss Barbara Switzer ex-
plained the course which the
club have just completed "Milk
Made Desserts". Mrs. Mervin
Shute introduced the girls and
then told about the courses she
had completed and how she
enjoyed them.
The program was in charge
of the home economic conven-
ors. Miss Mary Lou Black,
home economist for Perth
County, was the guest speaker
and explained the opportunities
available in the 4-H Club work.
Readings were given by Miss
Jean Copeland and Mrs. L.
Beckett gave a recipe for cook-
ies. Games were also played.

He farmed all his life on

Mr. McLean was known for
his fine penmanship and for the
