Hugh Wilson in charge after four week's vacation. Miss Susan Allen sang a solo and Mr. Wilson took as his subject, "(Hiding From God," Services next Sunday will be at the usual hour, church at 10 am and Sun- day School at 11:15 am. PERSONALS The members of the Elimville CGIT met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Ross Skinner, last Thursday evening to complete their casserole recipe booklets. The evening concluded with a wiener roast, hot chocolate and ice cream. Miss Margaret Johns visited last week with Miss Elsie Miller of Zion. Miss Dorothy and Mr. Roy Taylor of Lucknow visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Johns, Shirley and Marilyn. Paul Kerslake of Winchelsea spent the weekend with Dale Skinner. Mr. and Mrs, Jan Vos visit- ed with friends in Drayton on Sunday. UC choir honors departing pastor The choir of Brucefield United Church recently enter- tained Rev. and Mrs. A. H. Johnson prior to their leaving for Stratford. A short program preceeded an address read by Mrs. Mae Wilson, expressing regret at the termination of a happy relationship between the choir and their minister and his wife during the past three years. The T presentation was made by Mrs. J, R. Murdoch of a living room lamp to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and a bouquet of roses to Mrs. Johnson, Follow- ing Mr. Johnson's expression of appreciation on behalf of himself and his wife, a social hour was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Baker and family attended the first family reunion of the Brine fa- mily at the home of Mr. and John R. Murdock district apiarist The death of John Robert Murdoch, 73, well known resi- dent of Stanley Township, oc- curred in St. Joseph'sHospital, London, on Friday, August 2. Mr. Murdoch was the youee- est son of the late Wm. Mur- doch and Jessie Ross Murdoch, pioneer residents of the Bruce- field area, and was thelast sur- viving member of Ms family. He was born and lived all Ms life on the farm owned and oc- cupied by his family for over 1,00 years, Until his retirement some ten years ago Mr. Murdoch was a farmer and apiarist, operating over 500 colonies of bees. lie shipped honey by the carload, to the west and east coasts, as well as shipments overseas, and to the USA, Brought up with the beef cattle business, in which his father was a pioneer, he was actively engaged in this field, and retained Ms interests therein until the fall of 1962. Mr. Murdoch has suffered in- different health for some years, being a victim of an asthmatic heart condition, but became seriously ill only two months ago, He was a former member of Carmel Presbyterian Church, Hensall, and a member of Huron Lodge AF and AM 224 Hensall, under whose auspices the Ma- sonic service was held on Sun- day evening August 4. He is survived by his wife, the former Janet Isabel McBeath; one son William N. of Dundas and two daughters, Mrs_ Stanley G. Rumble (Audrey) of Toronto, and Mrs. Wm. D. Duncan (June), of Miami, Florida, and eight grandchildren, He was prede- ceased by his eldest daughter, Beth, in January of this year. Funeral services from the Bonthron Funeral Chapel, Hen- sall, were conducted by Rev. Howard Plant of Brucefield, and Rev, A, H. Johnson of Strat- ford, and formerly of Bruce- field, on Monday, August 5 with interment in the family plot in. Bairds cemetery. Pallbearers were Wm.
