The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1963-06-27, Page 12Celebrate golden anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pask, Grand Bend, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Monday, June 24. The couple were married in Detroit, Mich., where Mr, Pask, a native of London, served for a time as deputy sheriff in Wayne county. Mrs, Pask, the for, mar Marie Bassow, was born in Crediton and later moved with her parents to Hay township. The couple moved to their present home in Stephen township, near Grand Bead, in 1956. Sunday, more than 70 relatives and friends met at the couple's home to extend best wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Hermon Atkin- son attended the funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Carrie Wren, from the Hopper-Hockey funer al home, Exeter recently. Miss Carol Latta attended her class picnic, Medway 9A, held at Fanshaw Park Monday. Carol and her cousin Leroy Maguire were among the successful stu- dents at Medway. They received their reports Saturday. Larry Greenlee, Ivan Kirk and Wayne Carroll went on the Jr. Farmers bus trip to Niagara Falls Saturday. Mr, Cameron Davis, Misses Sharon Davis, and Ann Hamil- ton, Ailsa Craig, attended an Aberdeen Angus meeting at Arva Saturday. Miss Hamilton spent the week end with Sharon. The meetings will be resumed in September. Thirteen members and one visitor answered the roll call with school day me- mories. The ladies quilted for the mission bale to be packed lathe fall. The president of both organi- zations, Mrs. Heber Davis and Mrs. Maurice MacDonald con, ducted the meeting. Mrs. Dean Gibson, treasurer of the Guild, gave the receipts from the blos- som tea, bake sale and bazaar. Hostesses were: Mrs. Earl Atkinson, Mrs. Bill Johnson and Mrs. Harvey Latta. Mystery prizes donated by Mrs. Harry Carroll and Mrs. Tom Kooy were won by Mrs. Carl Weiberg and Mrs. Dean Gibson. DiaaNs REUNION Sunday, June 23 the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Torn Dink- ins held their family gathering at Springbank Park. Dinner was enjoyed by 85 descendents. Mrs. Earl Atkinson, presi- dent welcomed all to the gather- ing. A moment's silence was ob- served to honor departed loved ones.
