Recreation loop
needs fourth nine
A third meeting isbeing call-
ed in an attempt to organize the
Exeter and district recreation
softball loop.
Previous get-togethers have
produced only three entries and
at least one more is a necessity
to get play underway.
At a meeting Tuesday, Exeter
Legion, Exeter Bowling Lanes
and Crediton indicated they are
ready to go.
Another meeting will be held
at the Town Hall, Tuesday, June
4 at 8 pm.
Last year's other squad, Ex-
eter Kinsmen, is a doubtful
starter. An entry from RCAF
Centralia is another possibility
to round out the loop with four
or five teams.
came to an end last Friday night
at the Exeter Public School.
Since the beginning of the
square dancing sessions last
September, attendance at the
dances has ranged between 40
and 65.
Instructors Max Harness and
Norm Whiting deserve a tip of
the ol' chapeau for working
with the children each Friday
night.
A group of dancers attended
the Middlesex Seed FairSquare
and won $15.00 in the competi-
tion, Norm Ferguson, Earl.
Bowles, Max Harness and Norm
Whiting all had a hand in getting
this group ready.
Now that square dancing has
finished for the season at the
Exeter Public School, some
dances will be held later on in
the summer at the Exeter roller
rink. So, dancers, don't forget
to watch the paper for the co-
ming dates!

ADULT DANCE CLUB
One of the brightest achieve-
ments over the past winter
months has been that of the
Exeter Adult S guar e Dance
Club, who run under the name
of the Exeter Promenaders.
Under the guidance of in-
structor Earl Bowles, Club
President Wayne Tuckey and the
rest of the executive, the club
has 'certainly covered a lot of
ground since starting last No-
vember and we offer our per-
sonal congratulations to them,
for holding such an active re-
creational program for a lot of
fine people in this area.
The Promenaders began their
season back on November 21.
The group held three special
square dance parties, namely,
a Christmas party on December
19, Valentine Party on Febru-
ary 13 and a St. Patrick's Day
party on March 30.
A graduation party was also
held on April 17 for the couples
who had just started to learn
square dancing this season
under the guidance of Mr.
Bowles. This group also were
hosts to six squares from the
Western Ontario area at another
event.
