MOTHER DIES
Mrs. Wesley Dignan died
in hospital in Prince Edward
Island in her '74th year.
Surviving are her husband,
two sons and two daughters.
Mrs. Harold Dignan of Hensall,
who is a daughter, flew to Prince
Edward Island and spent a week
with her mother and family.

Mrs. Maurice Tudor, Hen-
sall, public health nurse for Hay
District, was guest speaker at
the meeting of the ArnoldCircle
of Carmel PresbyterianChurch
Tuesday evening, May 21,
speaking on Health Immuniza-
tion of all children and pre-
natal care. The speaker was in-
troduced by Mrs. A. R. Orr,
thanked by Mrs. Harry Hoy, and
presented with a gift by Mrs. Ed.
Fink in appreciation.
Mrs. Roy Bell and Mrs. Orr
conducted the worship period
and a trio composed of Mrs. A.
Scholl, Mrs. B. Beaton, and
Mrs. Hoy sang with Mrs. M.
Dougall, accompanist.
An invitation was accepted
from the Evangelical United
Brethren Church, Zurich for
Thursday, June 6. Mrs. Ross
MacDonald brought a message
from the Presbyterial executive
meeting informing the group of
the failing health of Miss Bes-
sie McMurchy, nurse mission-
ary of India.
President Mrs. Gordon
Schwalm chaired the meeting.
Hostesses were Miss Hannah
Murray, Mrs. John Skea and
Mrs. Gordon Troyer.
Legion auxiliary
at zone session
More than 200 members of
the Royal Canadian Legion La-
dies Auxiliary held their annual
zone rally at the Legion Hall
Goderich, on Wednesday, May
22. Representing the Hensall
Auxiliary were Mrs. E. R. Da-
vis, Mrs. Wm. Smale, Mrs.
Harry Horton, Mrs. Mary Tay-
lor, Mrs. Howard Smale, Mrs.
Gordon Munn, Mrs. Grant Bis--
back, Mrs. Harold Campbell
and Mrs. Roland Vanstone.

meeting was Regional Vice-
president Mrs. Mary Greenway
of Deep River.

At the dinner meeting of Hen,
sail Kinsmen held Thursday at
the Kopy Korner with president
John Heal presiding, it was an-
nounced that a $200 bursary
will be given to the grade 13
student graduating from a dis-
trict high school who, in the
opinion of a special awards
committee, is the most deserv,
ing. An announcement will be
Made when the winning student
has been chosen.
Plans for taping the bicycles
were finalized.

gave a report on the district
convention held in London. Next
meeting will be a joint meeting
with Exeter Kinsmen June 6. Receives MBA degree
William T. Brock, former resi-
dent of Kippen, received the
degree of master of business
administration at the Convoca-
tion of University of Western
Ontario. The MBA program is
a two-year course designed to
provide business training at the
graduate level for people with
a wide variety of undergraduate
backgrounds and work exper-
ience. Mr. Brock, son of Mr.
R. Brock, Kippen, Ontario, re-
ceived his undergraduate train-
ing from the University of Tor-
onto where he obtained a B,A.
Sc. Prior to entering the busi-
ness school, he was employed
as a sales representative by
Imperial Oil from May 1959
to September 1961.

Forty two ladies from Hen-
sall, Exeter, Zurich, Kippen
and Parr Line, will leave_ by
bus on Monday, June 3 on a
conducted tour of Ottawa and
other places of interest. While
in Ottawa they will stay at the
Hotel Alexandra. They will re-
turn horne Wednesday evening.
Mrs. Fred Beer is organizing
the trip.
Mr. Victor Blatchford of Ar-
kona, visited Tuesday with Mrs.
C. L, Jinks, and her niece,
Mrs. Fred Rawlins.
Mrs. Etta. Roberts of Luck-
now visited last week with Mr.
and Mrs. Orville Jones at the
Queensway Nursing Home.

will be guests of the ladies of
the Missionary Society.

Mr. Manley Jinks is apatient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, with a heart condition.
Mr. Joe Flynn is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, where
he underwent surgery for an-
trum trouble.

pear on CKNX-TV "Sing Time"
at 5:30 pm.

$800 worth of tickets were sold
for the successful penny sale
and draw sponsored by Hensall
Legion Auxiliary Saturday
night.
Sixty prizes, donated by Hen-
sall and district merchants,
were won by residents of a wide
area ranging from Wingham to
Parkhill. Out side of Hensall, the
luckiest community was Zurich,
from which there were nine
winners.
Mrs. William Smale, Auxi-
liary president, convened the
project. Clerk Earl Campbell
drew tickets for the draw
prizes.
