Hustlers managed to hold on to
win although held to a meagre

EXCITING FINISH
In one of the highest scoring
games of the year, teachers and
Shiners battled right to the
wire in a thrilling finish that
resembled the high school hoop-
sters' finals of a few weeks ago.
P-Pers leaped into a quick
20-8 first period lead only to
have the Moonshiners come
roaring back to cut the margin
to 30-26 at the half and pre-
serve a scant two-point edge
on the round.
Ed Wiebe hit for six field
goals in the third quarter to
help his club to a 45-44 game
lead and 105-98 on the set,

The camp will operate again
this year and will be held at
the same time as last year,
last week of July. The camp has
been booked and will not cost
more than $14 for the week,
which includes all meals, slee-
ping quarters, leadership and
materials for arts and crafts.

Exeter Bantams and midgets
(house league teams) advanced
to the finals of the Lake Huron
Zone Recreation Councils'
playdowns this week before get-
ting beaten out for top honours.
Clarence Everett "Derry"
Boyle, who guided the bantams,
and yours truly, who looked
after the midgets, both saw their
teams go down to defeat in
Wingham last Saturday morn-
ing.
The bantams bowed 5-0 to a
strong Owen Sound team while
the, midgets were upset 2-0 by
a club from Rocklyn.
However, despite the twolos-
ses in the finals, the local
youngsters enjoyed the outing
and a chance to play in tour-
nament competition. Each pla-
yer on both Exeter teams re-
ceived Lake Huron Zone "fina-
lists" crests to wear on their
jackets.
Included on the teams were:

Last Saturday morning coin-
plated a four week craft class
in the basement of the Exeter
PubliC Library far children of
Public and Separate School
ages.
Included On the program over
the four-week span were sing
songs, games, paper crafts,
pahiting, soap Carving add the
making of potato stamps.
In conjunction with the re-
creation department, Carolymie
Simmons leader of the "Ranger
Flight", supervised the classes
along With Shirley Genttner,
Lana Keller, Sandra Hunter and
Marion Betitlet, all Ranger
