STRONG THIRD QUARTER Making the most of a solid 17-point third period to build up a 32-25 at that time, the Hustlers managed to hold on to win although held to a meagre three points in the final. Don O'Brien again led his club with seven baskets from the floor and three successful tries from the foul line, all coming in the first three parts of the contest. Bill Batten dropped in eight points in a supporting role in a rough and tumble affair that kept the officials busy calling infractions. Fella Boogemans continued to be the main point-getter for the farmers notching 12 with Chub McCurdy close behind with nine. EXCITING FINISH In one of the highest scoring games of the year, teachers and Shiners battled right to the wire in a thrilling finish that resembled the high school hoop- sters' finals of a few weeks ago. P-Pers leaped into a quick 20-8 first period lead only to have the Moonshiners come roaring back to cut the margin to 30-26 at the half and pre- serve a scant two-point edge on the round. Ed Wiebe hit for six field goals in the third quarter to help his club to a 45-44 game lead and 105-98 on the set, But first, we must make certain that Canada has a strong, responsible and stable Government — a Liberal Government that speaks with de- cision!
